In the top 5 and he'd get in any team as he's the best player in the world, okay CR7 has had a better last season, but Messi still had a good season with him missing a lot of it also. Messi came within inches of scoring last night, wouldn't say he bottled it, just missed a chance, certainly had a better WC than CR7, WC don#'t determine your football status imo, Messi as proved what he is, you only need to look at his stats. Messi was said to look like carrying a slight injury too and Messi has been the best player for years until this year and if both are fit then Messi it is. Messi missed that freekick, it was far out and Neure in goal, he scored almost from there v Nigeria, CR7 misses plenty of freekicks as does Messi, Gerrard had a late freekick in a game for England and put it over, it happens, he had to put power on it and put it right in the corner, I'd say any player would struggle to score more than a few times out of 100 with a goalkeeper to beat also from there.
