When's the next originals in goretex likely to appear

Definitely have some more of them

Had some on at Rochdale and we got drenched

Shoes live to fight another day

They had a few different pairs of goretex at Cheshire oaks t'other week.

One was a white pair of rivalry low. Being white kind of ruined the point of goretex ones imo.

Now I'd love a pair of Nike Mags sadly I haven't got £56k for trainers

I saw an article on the BBC website the other week re a teenager making a nice living buying and selling rare trainers which go for approx 60k a time, I presume the Mags were in his portfolio.

I read that this morning. The kids are buying a bot for £20 and then using them to snaffle up all the limited edition trainers so they can flog them for a massive profit

But they all look the fucking same!

Is all this shoving of placenames in gold block not just emporor's new clothes syndrome?

My lad is a collector of Adidas and reckons the colours used for certain cities mean different things.

I reckon it's all just great marketing that changing a shade on the stripes means it's a brand new must-have shoe.

The different colours and how they related to a particular city was what first made me really get into the City series - even if some were a bit obscure and based on colours from a coat of arms or an old industry

(Rumours these green/gold London shaped trainers Size are doing in limited edition are going to be Liverpool, based on the Tate & Lyle syrup tin...)

But when they started releasing London, Hamburg, Malmö etc in loads of colours it was lost. I'm still a sucker for them though.

Speaking of Goretex... Have anyone else's GTX Stockholm completely failed them? The material inside my grey ones has broken down and now they take on water and stain like fook!

Yeah wearing them to Rochdale was a bad idea

Mine have been hammered twice

Wigan away and Saturday

No sign of any seepage yet

My blue/gold ones are fine if a bit creased looking in the toe box, but the grey ones have completely failed and look a state. Can feel the material coming away around my toes.

Amsterdams drop on 24th January  https://www.adidas.co.uk/amsterdam-shoes/EF5791.html

They're getting grief for being a bit too light brown but I'll wait to see in the flesh - that model is getting some beating, exactly same as Malmö, Bern, Brussels etc.

Seen photos of Paris and also the Koln version that had white/blue stripes, look decent.

Not sure of your age mate, but did you live through the era of the Oasis shop in the Manchester underground market ?

If not, you would have been in your element, iconic days for Adidas trainer fans.

No unfortunately never got to go into Oasis, would have loved to have seen it though. Don't think City series stuff was as popular as it is now, Dublin and Berlin in the sales bins!

At least I can walk out of Size these days and not worry about getting taxed round the corner! Any photos from in there that you know of?

Noel Gallagher did an interview the other year mate, it is in the archives on here , great read.

Yes, it was eclectic but moody. You had to have your wits about you in that place.
