I shouldn't laugh. I've got some of them euro 96 Gazelles with the intention of doubling my cash.. Didn't even sell out on the raffle and they are going for less than RRP on ebay... 🤣

see, i think they are the best they'v released for a long time, each to their own like

Love it if true though the sole and colourway looks off to me.

2008s were immense but I absolutely battered them in wearing them to pubs, clubs and to the match.

2014s are shite in comparison and aren't comfortable to wear.

I'll be really disappointed if it's just yet another release using the same unit as was used for the Brussels, Bern and Malmo from the last year or so. Needs to be a bespoke release, and as you say not quite that colourway either.

Had 3 pairs of 08s over time and sold them all but dont really know why because they were ace, all 3 of those 08 City series were spot on. I've heard the 2014s were really uncomfortable, was it the sole?

They just feel shit quality. Tongue is squeaky, sole isn't as comfortable.

I had all of the 3x 2008 City series and they were immense. Stockholms easily the best of the lot.

I'm a bit gutted I didn't get any of the furry grey Stockholm efforts at the same time. They were on sale rails...

Funnily enough just seen someone else say their 14s were the loudest and squeakiest trainers they've had before I saw this!

Those grey SNS Stockholm sell for a fortune now, same with some of the multiple London colourways that came out in about 2010. Those "slime" ones and a couple of others were everywhere at the time, now they fetch about £200.

Solebox Berlin are the ones I most regret missing out on, top level quality.

Them absolute monstrosity spaz boots that are the lego Adidas released yesterday are now going for 400 quid

@Big E is gutted. Actually gutted.

And them 2010 London releases were all dog shit quality. Surprised any of them have lasted 10 years.

Doing a homage to a London colourway that wasnt a proper London colourway in the first place (the slime ones) and that came out barely 10 years ago is annoying.

But Size have long since destroyed the appeal of City series shoes having, for the most part, their own unique colours.

You're the pumps man, so feel free to put me right, but how can size be blamed

They only sell what adidas make, dont they

No you're right, I just sling blame Size's way a lot because the releases are often exclusive to them and their service and customer "experience" has gone to pot over the years.

Isn't that what all this whole adidas lark is about? The same thing, over and over again, but with a different name and colour to add an air of individuality?

The thing that first got me into the City series in particular was the fact that each city had in most cases its own unique colourway and colours that had some personal link to that city even if it was tenuous.

Some of them do use the same shape and sole (eg. London, Dublin, Koln all same unit) but many of them had unique builds too and it really had a feel of them being collectable in a way.

Since about 2010 when multiple London colours came out along with a few others, in particular Hamburg which must be available in a million different flavours now, it really felt like the whole thing had been diluted.

I say all this and mean it, yet will still get suckered in.

It's mad

I work with these guys

https://thesolesupplier.co.uk

The whole thing about collecting trainers is alien to me, i have two pairs of air force one and it feels excessive

But these guys, and their stories of queuing for trainers in London are next level

They don't even sell any trainers but do very well for themselves telling people where they can buy them

I've never seen that site and I'm going to get rabbit holed now!

Done my share of all night queuing, 8 till about midnight is a laugh and strangely exciting, the hour or so before store opening is exciting (or infuriating if a van load of scrotes turn up and try to gatecrash) but those dead hours 3, 4, 5am when the city goes completely quiet are truly desolate.

Didnt even get my size the last time I did it!

They basically said they queue all night in London, and about 5 mins before opening gangsters/top boys turn up, and the security staff know better than to stop them pushing in
