Mike Hunt
How's it cheap? There were strikes when it hit £1 a litre, yet no-one bats an eyelid when it hit £1.40 Guessing the couriers who were blockading at refineries got some deal to keep them quiet
no balls
It's always 2p cheaper at leigh sainsbury than Horwich tesco. Fuck knows why but I usually fill it when I'm that way

Big E
That fuel save at tesco made mine 1.10 a litre yesterday. how does this said fuel save work? is it an average shop over the month?
no balls
That fuel save at tesco made mine 1.10 a litre yesterday. I don't shop much at tesco but it's not a bad do if you do is it? £60 for me if I fill up there so 2p off every other time isn't too bad. I think the cheaper stuff at sainsbury just edges it for price in my case though
stevieb
2p off per litre for every 50 quid spent in store in a month. It's alright but at the end of the day it's still only knocking a quid off a full tank.

stevieb
And I'd hazard a guess you could save more than that quid by shopping elsewhere Correct. We mainly shop at Aldi but in the First month I saved 6p a litre then realised I'd probably save 40 quid on that 150 shop by shopping at Aldi. Good marketing ploy though, the club card is king at that!

Moderators Carlos Posted October 30, 2014 Moderators Share Posted October 30, 2014 Basically, either Tesco have put a quid on the price of a £50 shop or are charging 2p a litre over the odds for petrol. I'm off to Sainsbury's.

I think the cheaper stuff at sainsbury just edges it for price in my case though I dont do a lot of shopping there to be honest, mainly M and S for food as its on the doorstep, aldi if i run out of ice picks and crocs knock offs.. but I tend to fill up the car a couple of times a month and it usually knocks of 5 to 10p a litre each time when i pay at the pump. Moderators Zico Posted October 30, 2014 Moderators Share Posted October 30, 2014 Someone told me that you get more miles per gallon out of proper fuels, such as Shell. Correct? I heard it was better quality and that person preferred to pay for the brands as some of the price will go back into investment and research into making it better or something Basically it was someone who thinks into things, a lot

Moderators Carlos Posted October 30, 2014 Moderators Share Posted October 30, 2014 Just filled up at Sainsbury's on Regent Road, £1.209 a litre. £1.249 at Tesco on Bury Rd (RRG).
no balls
I've never noticed a difference to be honest I think I may have had more out of the fancy shell stuff & the car seemed to run better but the tesco & sainsbury petrol do the job & I wonder if the shell stuff is psychosomatic. Asda & Morrisons on the other hand have had it coughing like it's been on the L&Bs. Again, it's not scientific but just personal experience.
