gonzo
Another cock up involving that Orlandi bloke.... Taken from Gazette... "It appears the player was entitled to leave if Pool were relegated and he had played 23 full games, or 2070 minutes. Former manager Lee Clark left Orlandi on the bench for the trip to Cardiff and dropped him altogether for the abandoned final game against Huddersfield, believing he was just under the 2070-minute limit. However, Orlandi may already have exceeded the limit because Pool based its calculations on 90 minutes for a full game, not allowing for added time. It’s another administrative mess in a season in which just about everything went wrong for the Seasiders."
famouswanderer
What would happen if they kept running on the pitch getting every game abandoned? Would they be forced to play behind closed doors
Big E
What would happen if they kept running on the pitch getting every game abandoned? Would they be forced to play behind closed doors now that would be funny.

paulhanley
I enjoy laughing at Blackpool but the fact is we failed to beat them last season - and still haven't won at Bloomfield Road since 1977. That's 9 league games and three cup games.
gonzo
Been decided its a 0-0 draw by football league Apparenlty they are now no longer the stand alone worst team in championship history.

COYW
Been decided its a 0-0 draw by football league http://www.football-league.co.uk/news/article/2015/football-league-statement-blackpool-v-huddersfield-2456549.aspx "The Board took the view that the 0-0 scoreline that stood at the time of the game's abandonment (in the 48th minute) should be officially recorded as the final result of the match, as it believes that league points should always be earned on the field of play." That makes no sense because neither team earned a point as they only played half a game.
no balls
It gets better http://www.itv.com/news/granada/update/2015-05-14/blackpool-fc-charged-over-abandoned-match-protest/ I'd have been surprised if they didn't get charged. They knew the protest was going to happen, everyone knew it was going to happen.

snowball
I thought the game would have been awarded to Huddersfield or what's to stop fans getting games abandoned to suit their team? Not much of a deterrent this decision

Site Supporter Biggish Dave Posted May 14, 2015 Site Supporter Share Posted May 14, 2015 I'm sure if the result had really mattered they would have been forced to re-play it. Blackpool were already doomed to bottom and Hudds could only go up 1 place - I believe an extra £50k in prize money could have been earned? famouswanderer
so if we need a point to secure a promotion next season, storm the pitch after 1 minute, get the game abandoned, take the fine, take the point. cheers

Sweep
Talking to some Huddersfield mate, a season ticket holder of course, and was pissed off that they didn't finish above Leeds due to that decision. They would have needed to win by a six goal margin to get ahead of Leeds, which wasn't really all that likely
leigh white
They would have needed to win by a six goal margin to get ahead of Leeds, which wasn't really all that likely The current league table on the BBC sport website shows Huddersfield with only 45 games played, so if they had have won the game 1-0, they would have finished a point above Leeds.
