There you go with the patronising tone again. The 'price match promos' have been so ad hoc and piecemeal over the past 3 years as to be almost negligible. And, as discussed, they've offered no real incentives to the (dwindling) season ticket fanbase. The whole approach falls well short of anything that could be described as a strategy. Which is one of the reasons the figures are going in the wrong direction.

Seeing as you just keep repeating stuff, I'll play, too

The only thing that will see a significant sustainable long term increase is league position

Not entertaining football

Not goals

Not cheap tickets

What part of disagreeing with someone is not listening to them? Fuck me, get over yourself, NIC.

And Casino, I agree, 100 points and 100 goals next season would see folk flooding back. But that's a risky strategy. What if it doesn't happen? What then?

We don't attract big crowds week in and week out despite relatively cheap tickets.

True the odd day tripper will come out of the wood work for the cheap games.

The only thing to bring back the premier league numbers is premier league football.

The club has to balance the numbers between bums on seats and cash in the bank. They'll have folk in the finance department with the numbers making the prices.

£35 is the most expensive regular seat for the most popular games. In the nsl you never pay more than thirty quid. In the world of football I would say they're not too far off a decent price

Thanks. Thought I was being pretty fair.

Given how fucking numb you are.

Only in the world of football could that be described as a decent price. And increasing numbers of people are showing they're not overly enamoured with the world of football. But that's alright according to twats like Scudamore cos folk in Mumbai and Singapore will soon be taking up the slack.

Just throwing random words out there and telling people they don't understand the finer points of marketing doesn't amount to a strategy for boosting crowds. You don't appear to a) have one and b. think we need one. Which is where I disagree with you. Anyway, enough. 3 points tomorrow with a bigger crowd will do for me.

You've been consistently patronising. And now abusively so. Are you like this with everyone who doesn't agree with you?

I don't know much, but I know a lot about this. I don't know why I've bothered. I've pointed you in the direction of academic articles, real life case studies and said how much I think you are what BWFC needs. But by god, you don't listen, repeat yourself despite all the real stats and evidence saying you're wrong and then dismissing the reasonable response from the club.

There's a sad gag in the work that we do, that for all the effort, sweat and tears you move most sales up, at the very best, 15% do your job badly it'll dip by that. So, as I say, track the mean average of attendance over the last three years, let's see where it's dipped and by how much, instead of just repeating yourself without any real basis.

That's why you are a fan, and not the director of marketing.

Now that's patronising.

I thought DJ wanted us to just make it open season for all to buy tickets at a fiver

My apologies

Anyway, I think tomorrow will put to bed the myth wed fill the ground at as fiver

Be fair enough if I'm proved wrong but the fact I got three club emails today suggests it wont

Why when we can all buy tickets for £8 like you

Fucking hell.

I don't know what DJ does for a living, but I know NIC works in the entertainment industry and has knowledge of  how ticketing and marketing works.

But, by the fuck you're both overcomplicating things.

Crowds are shit because we've been shit for a while and have now been in decline for almost 10 yrs.

20-odd thousand came to the cup game because we were playing a top team and the plantpots wanted us to virtually give tickets away.

What is the mean average? Aren't they two words meaning the same thing?

Yup. Sorry. Sound ever more like a ranting loon now

Yeah, perhaps I have over complicated a fairly simple issue but I've got a job to justify here!

Anyway, I think we'll probably see over the fullness of time what most stats prove and why there won't be hundreds of one off match day discounts or random e shots to every lapsed attender.

Any model that is happy to have a stadium at under 50 per cent capacity is a pretty flawed model, in my opinion. Yes, crowds go up and down according to what's happening on the pitch, but maximising the ups and minimising the downs has to be the priority. The rest is just drivel.

If that is your view then I would say we built the stadium too big. To be nearly full every week 20k would have more than sufficed, tickets in the prem could be more expensive then as there would be some supply and demand issues.

I personally think the stadium size is fine but accept that we will have some 10k ish gates when the team isn't performing but we'll get more when they are.
