leigh white
Been a soft lager supper for ages, tried some of the bitter's and stout's at the beer festival at the George in Leigh before the game, fuck me, supping that Marstons Pedigree brought some memories back watching Bolton away at Lincoln in a rough pub in Worksop. The real ale buffs were out today in the sunshine, mind every pint was £ 2-00 so what you supped, even bottles of strong ale from abroad what would cost a fortune in Manc was the same. leigh white
I'll give it a miss and have a Bank Top Dark Mild (back on topic) then! Must admit, the old mates who like real ale gave me a sample, about 20 on draught, passed them all about, some flat as fuck, some brilliant. To think i used to sup bitter in when i left school in 69 and getting the taste for real ale again.

leigh white
Miles better than fizzy piss lagers Trouble is next week, when they all go in the Station Bar in Dewsbury supping real ale at £ 4-00 a pint.
Breightmet Boy
I'm a lager drinker, but when there's no Carling on in my local I'll have a bitter instead of Fosters. I've tried getting back into being a bitter drinker but struggling, it's just not as refreshing as a nice bubbling Carling Cold.

frank_spencer
The lagers from these small brewery companies are miles better than fosters/carling etc. Outstanding Brewing Co have a pilsner for sale in The Clarence in Bury that's a lovely refreshing pint. I'm a big fan of a good pale ale too.
H
My local serves 7 real ales. Apart from two 'regulars' the choice varies from week to week but all are kept extremely well. It's no wonder he's won the CAMRA area award 3 years running. If Cider's your bag.Thatchers is over the road from me. With that sort of choice who needs lager. Traf
Express Tavern at Kew was brilliant last weekend. Loads of choice at sub-£3 a pint too. Plus the entertainment of watching the locals wrapped up in blankets whilst Tomski laughed at them.
