Mounts Kipper
Often the big games are dissapointing this one though has to be my favourite game of all time after being out of the top flight for so long the elation was unbelievable the celebrations in town the next day were something I'd waited a long time to see. I hope and pray BWFC and the fans and town can regroup and we can all witness these type of scenes once again.
bwfcfan5
Soon as Branagan saved that penalty I knew we'd win. Which is odd as normally I don't like to get ahead of myself at the game but I just had an outright belief we'd win. Remember saying so and as the second half dragged on and we didn't get a goal people around me taking the piss. But I just knew.....

Site Supporter MickyD Posted May 26, 2015 Site Supporter Share Posted May 26, 2015 I never went & can't fcukin remember why!!!!! It was about a couple of weeks before wife was due so "we" decided it was best to watch on telly. I wasn't that bothered at the time, less so when reading scored twice but what happened next means I totally regret missing it.
davidjack
It will take something very special to beat that feeling of when that equaliser went in. A last minute winner in the Cup Final perhaps...
Smiley
What would have happened if Branagan hadn't saved the pen? Could we have got seriously embarrassed by 5, 6 or 7 goals?
Farrelli
No chance. That team had plenty of guts and would still have made a game of it.
bwfcfan5
What would have happened if Branagan hadn't saved the pen? Could we have got seriously embarrassed by 5, 6 or 7 goals? No. But think that would have been game over. Thinking back that Reading side were clearly very naive. They didn't really shut the game down. Can't see many sides nowadays 2-1 up with 5 minutes to go at Wembley conceding a goal like our equaliser. They'd be defending deep and denying space making it hard to break them down. We broke right through the middle of them.
Traf
Watching that again reminds me of how tireless McAteer used to be. He might be thick, but the lad had an engine on him.
frank_spencer
Watching that again reminds me of how tireless McAteer used to be. He might be thick, but the lad had an engine on him. He was my favourite player as a kid. Followed by Alan Thompson and Mixu Speaking of Mixu I need to see if my signed moose horns are still at my mums

Site Supporter superjohnmcginlay Posted May 26, 2015 Site Supporter Share Posted May 26, 2015 Found this report, Scott Green the legend A very unwelcome visitor appeared in the dressing room afterwardsThere was silence in the dressing room afterwards yet Bolton’s Scott Green made an unwelcome entrance asking if anyone would swap shirts. “That didn’t go down well,” said Gooding. http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/reading-fc-memories-mick-gooding-9033616
gregbwfc
Our third goal is still one of the greatest I have ever seen. I had forgotten their first weren't too s shabby either Indeed. It seemed every player was involved. Think only McAteer took more than one touch. Sensational goal.

Marc505
In fact, I think the De Freitas Forest featured on that 100 greatest premier league goals dvd we put out at the height of the Allardyce years, that's probably where I remember it from
Site Supporter Biggish Dave Posted May 26, 2015 Site Supporter Share Posted May 26, 2015 Wasn't it Fab who was playing for WBA and he missed the game because he was still in bed with his burd? Roverrrs were poorly defending champions too when we thrashed them for our first PL win
