Today's GB highlight was the 4th place by the young lady from Burnley in the Hammer Throw, twice beating her own British record. The other noticable feature is how many of the USA team have really under-performed - I'm not talking about 10%, which might be expected, but more like 50%. Yesterday's athletics schedule included 2 invitation races for over 50s (800m for men and 400m for women). The only Briton won the men's race while the British women finished first and second. Zero mention on TV (and we are 12k into the women's Marathon now, with plenty time for talking about anything and almost everything). In all fairness Malc, I'm sure most people don't give a toss about watching a load of pensioners hobbling around a track.
