Town Centre Latest

A great night out in town tonight, first time for awhile. Parked for free in the Market Place car park. A burger in the new Gourmet Burger place, a pint in the Vaults bar then a film at the new cinema.

It's good to see some positive improvements to the centre.

How many times did you get robbed by a coordinated gang of Eastern European women?

Ha! Originally tried to park on the car park behind the Halifax but they now charge after 6pm (it was empty)

Drove into the Market Place multi storey and it was free and open till 1am.

So we never ventured out of the Market Place complex.

It was busy down in the Vaults and another restaurant opening soon, Pepe's. We were going to walk down to the Venue to watch my wife's cousins band playing but a bit late for me (working today)

A number of places doing cheap and cheerful food including a Cameroon doing curried goat

Brussels white at half the price of last time I had it

And a 7 per cent Belgian ale

I think an unlikely gem in Bolton is the bus station cafe, it is  better than any of the other bus station cafes in Greater Manchester.I really hope it doesn't lose the greasy spoon feel and turn into another crappy modern coffee bar when it moves across town.

'Mondello' - New Italian restaurant on Chorley old road, is very very very good.

Authentic food, closer than any other place I have been in Bolton.

The owner used to have a place in Horwich, not sure of the name.

can only think of Max Max  It was Italian, then closed and reopened as Thai, now back to Max Italia but a different bloke so might be that

May be that then, I have no idea.

The menu was small, and had no kids menu....they just do half size of the main dishes, which I think is prefect and how it should be.

Apparently IlToro is under new management so it might be him

Nice bloke is Rosario, makes the best lasagne in the world. I hope it does well.

i dont know him but hope it does well too, just hope any diners aren't put off by any wild west scenes outside and stepping over collapsed halfwits. Potential to be a really nice location.
