snowball
It's called humanity, no one is forcing you to join in. Didn't you wish something not very humane on the pervious chairman? Apologies in advance if my memory is wrong
snowball
I've always said gartside has done a good job regardless of his health - despite our current league position look at what our club has now and what it had 15-20 years ago it's night and day - he gets no credit and all the shite it's nonsense he's made mistakes yea but on balance done a very good job I'm sorry but I'm not having history re wrote to suit the pro Gartside/Davies agenda. We moved to the Reebok before him, Rioch and Todd era had fuck all to do with him as Bowtun Baked pointed out. Depending on who you believe he had less to do than some would have you believe, with the best appointment of all either. Think you could also do with reading that article posted earlier about our debt, not so clear cut praising Gartside/Davies to the heavens. They just seem to have been postponing the inevitable since relegation while our esteemed chairman made bad decision after bad decision. Judge him over his full tenure by all means. Ultimately though Casino is right, there is not enough coming in to cover the outgoings. A new plan is needed and that means new owners PDQ and things getting worse while we shed further costs. Hopefully we can then begin to climb back to the Championship in a few years. PS Got called a ball bag not so long ago for comparing our current position to the 80's. They were right, I was wrong. Far worse now. Ani
Surely it is possible to wish PG a return to good health and still think the job he has done/been asked to has put the club in a real fucking mess as of today. He gets all the credit in the world for the good times but he is equally responsible for where we are today. Ultimately that is all about a football clubs history and really not as important as his health.

MancWanderer
Jesus!! His illness and his abilities as chairman are two completely different things He's been seriously ill. As a human being I wish him well. He's not fiddled any kids, supported terrorism or kicked an animal to death so I hope he recovers and lives a long life As a chairman of our club he has to be called into question.....perhaps Give the bloke (not the chairman) a break ffs

Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted November 23, 2015 Site Supporter Share Posted November 23, 2015 I've no great knowledge of what PG's job actually involves. Financially, budgets will be set, and much of that dictated by Eddie's involvement. We invested off the pitch to broaden income streams and in academy. Apart from Megson, his managerial appointments were broadly welcomed, and it's unlikely that they were made solely by him. Yes as a chairman he ultimately carries the can and we can look back with hindsight and be critical, he's undoubtedly made mistakes, but some of the personal vilification is unbelievable. I remember an interview he gave after BSA left, and his comment about losing a manager and a mate. He felt it personally and I'm sure it's a situation that still wrankles with him. At the time this was supposedly because he wouldn't give any more cash to sign players. Many on here were accepting of that decision, yet he seems to be continually castigated for causing our current financial plight. Few people are in a position to genuinely make an informed judgement on his performance, it's unfortunate that passion for the football team leads to such extreme views and comments

waffer cup 07
You wouldn't be slagging off Gartside if Davies was still bankrolling us to the extent he did a few years ago. So whose to blame for our demise.
