Packing In The Wanderers

Going down to Div 1 will be massive nosedive there's no point dressing it up .If you've got the right leadership & some ambition it makes a huge difference. The second of our relegations to Div 1 was torturous culminating in further relegation to Div 2 & we only scraped out of there by a miracle.Thats why our next owners will set in stone the future direction of BWFC.

Is there really much of a difference between championship and league 1?

Prem to championship yes you lose then big teams but can't see much difference between championship and league 1?

Yeah league 1 looks a right hoot.

Maybe we will go all season unbeaten and there will be some cracking away trips.

That wasn't the point I was making. I'm sure league 1 is a real drag just like the championship is.

However I can't see why people would be turned off with playing sheff Utd and Barnsley instead of wolves and sheff weds.

Dropping down the league has brought the club closer to the fans I reckon..

fans feel more involved..

that and having bloodied several youngsters in championship, hopefully next year we will bring even more through..

Walker, Clough, and Vela have done well, with Holding making a great impression last game, baring in mind these are just some of the youngsters on the teams borders, reckon we should do OK in the league below without spending much.

.

All about opinions like but I've never felt more disconnected and plenty of others feel the same hence low attendances.

And all those players you mentioned will be gone next season.

If we go down the ground will be less than a third full on a weekly basis.

It's gonna be fuckin horrible.

I suppose those who have left the party are better of leaving no point sitting there moaning and groaning the atmosphere been ok with the 12-13000 who are still going. Nothing stays the same everything moves on.

And you're quitting when Clough gets sold next month?

Read all these stories very carefully and see something in each of those who have given up being regular.

BWFC was my life from 1972 to 1979 then 1984 until 2005. I used to cry at success, battle on the terraces, go with mates, row with the wife when we lost etc etc. Then when I came back in the 80's I met a different group and in the 90's we even had a Rossendale group of 5 or 6 who used to travel all over the country. The decline started when we went to the Reebok, everyone split up, the old uns from from Churchills either didn't go or didn't have a pre match pint. Still my son and daughter were well into it and even the wife and sister loved it and we had family season tickets. Then around 2002 the lad started working shifts, the dowter found more interesting things to do in her teens but still liked the odd game. Me and the wife found that in the 2005/2006 season we attended 11 home games with our ST's. One dismal rain swept day that season we were on our way and after 5 miles said fuck this and turned back and went to bed. That was it. Wasn't the money, that year i considered myself pretty rich. I was just bored. We had achieved everything and I sort of knew it could never get better, i was just going through some habit or belief it was who i was, so i had to go.

I then did about 4 or 5 games a year and now its down to one.

I can't believe how it was the centre of my life for so long. I will always have a soft spot but what I saw live the the other day against Cardiff was alien to me. I watch the results come on here for a laugh and debate but its in my past. It will never come back. That time is past.

I think we all need a massive gay pile on at Bristol and score a last minute winner or summet.

Maybe take a square over, hang some flags and throw some beer and chairs about.

Any brizzle placed posters able to string a low chain link fence around the town square?

I'm with you if they give clough away for that amount they can do one,it's the young players coming through that give you hope, the whatmores, Peter reads,Alan stubbs and Jason macateers it's the only way we'll get back

Think we've sold about 3 players that's come through the ranks for any considerable amount of money in past 30 years.

Nolan was it £4 million?

McAteer £4.5? And he wasnt even properly through the ranks.

What did Stubbs actually go for in the end?

About 4 million but it's irrelevant

When you and others scoff at 4 million you forget Bournemouth are setting up a 16 million deal for the summer
