Salford Trotter
I can highly recommend this hotel....ask for the Superior Room with a balcony overlooking Las Ramblas https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g187497-d191046-Reviews-SERHS_Rivoli_Rambla_Hotel-Barcelona_Catalonia.html Loads of great restaurants but our favourite is Los Caracoles where you walk through the kitchen to get to your table https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g187497-d717325-Reviews-Los_Caracoles-Barcelona_Catalonia.html

SalfordOriginal
Get on one of the red buses (hop on, hop off) that do city tours. Well worth it if you want to see the city key attractions or recover from a hangover without messing about

Members bolty58
I followed Smileys advice and booked the Barcelo Raval. Excellent (nice one Smiley). Oh, and his cafe/bar/restaurant recommendation was good too (El Bosc De Les Fades just off La Rambla). To quote an Aussie acquaintance who went there - "freakishly different". Great views of the city from the hotels 360 degrees balcony. El Bosc is a very "different" bar. Indoor rainstorms and the like. Also did the hole-in-the-wall cava & tapas place that Traf and a couple others recommended. Was good.

Moderators Carlos Posted February 9, 2016 Moderators Share Posted February 9, 2016 Barcelona is fucking expensive. Really fucking expensive, for what it is. A city overwhelmed with tourists. Parts of it look like 1970s Harlem. I feel safe from being robbed out of the centre.
