Pre-Season

I'm not slitting my wrists, but don't kid yourself it was a good performance.

On a positive note , I think Madine & Davies have found their level

It's the conference

I have no idea about the performance

But winning and clean sheets are good whatever

Helps confidence and momentum

I'd rather that than a good performance and lose 3-2

It's York!

We'll start judging Tuesday & Saturday.

All I'll say is, it isn't looking good.

Another wasted pre-season.

You were judging last Saturday if this thread is to be believed ;)

Stop being a cockwomble. 'judge better'

I judge every game.

Today was better than last Saturday

But so was the opposition.

Playing better teams Tuesday & Saturday will see where we're really at. Due to better opposition & the fact he might play a more permanent xi for the duration of the game.

Fwiw, I think we'll get hammered (unless they play their kids, then we'll just get beat)

You're better than being an argumentitive happy clapper. Turn up Tuesday, you'll see what I've been talking about. I'm just telling it how I've seen it.

P.S. I got you Madine's autograph as requested

Why would playing a Premiership side be a better barometer for where we are as a league one side?

In fairness to Baked we were in the same league last season and played them at the end of Feb.

They haven't strengthened much in the transfer market so it might be useful to see if we have gone forwards or backwards since that game.

I know there aren't any premiership teams in league one....

Strange, because I've seen (twice) an almost premier league side struggle against conference type sides in the last 8 days!

I was trying to be light hearted about it (difficult in the written word) but seen as you're pushing me on the subject. I can officially confirm we're shite.

If you don't believe me , get off your arse & come & see for yourself.

I'm not a happy clapper as you know mate, just don't see the point in getting worked up just yet

Especially as we've won 2 on the trot

When did that last happen?!

I know from experience that when you don't go to the game and you don't witness the woefulness you don't get as worked up about it, so I do get it. But PP is finding his feet and even if we are dreadful in every friendly it serves no purpose not to get behind them come Sheff Utd at home. Atmospheres where we are "waiting for them to make a mistake" have been too common in recent years and they are very damaging. It's not our fault of course, but if we can avoid it then my opinion is let's do so.

I'll even back Super Gary Madine

Fookin' Muppet.

Not doubting we've been poor. Simply stating that it is easy to set us up for a fall if you want to compare the quality of a penniless league one club to a premiership one.

Win lose or draw against Burnley and it won't make much difference come the Sheff Utd game.
