Big Sams First England Squad

It's hard to make truly wholesale changes as England manager as the pot to select from is only so small. Unless you want to see a team that consists of Shawcross, Dann, Noble, Defoe and Townsend line up in a qualifier... I know I certainly don't.

Realistically there ws never going to be sweeping changes to the squad.

Before the euros there wasn't too much issue with Roy's squad selection. The problem arrived when at the tournament the players couldn't make a 5yd pass or keep crosses on the pitch and out of the stands.

Hart

Walker/Clyne

Cahill

Stones/Smalling

Shaw/Rose

Dier/Drinkwater

Henderson/Wilshere

Alli

Rooney

Sterling

Kane

is probably the best team.

Sam's biggest task is to stop the players freezing in the spotlight.

Roy qualified with a 100% record but came up way short in the tournament.

Sweep,

TBF they've only played 3 games in the prem so BSA can't exactly go off form

I know that, but there were some in the Media suggesting it could be the end of Rooney being in the squad and certainly him being captain, I personally think it was fairly obvious that this wasn't going to happen. Allardyce will still end up being accused of picking the same old players game in and game out......but as pointed out above, we've got a very small pool of talent, and they never have any issues in qualification, our problem is once we get into the actual tournament. I'm hoping he can do something about this, but I don't know how he will.
