Edit: Taskers is still a snooker club on Manny Rd. The nightclub has been shut for years though..... I'm fairly sure he made the first televised 147 but it wasn't in a tournament, it was a televised practice filling time during a world championship on Grandstand. His brother Bob was landlord of the Turf Hotel on Bolton Rd. Glynwebb was in Spencer's for about twenty odd years so that's been shut ages, briefly B&M like someone wrote until Do It All went tits up and they moved there. Storage place now. That's money for old rope, the on off bird has a unit in one (handful but fit perfectly) - could probably rent a shit flat for another score. I liked Farnworth Snooker Club on Longcauseway and the Crown and Flick as I'm shit at snooker. Never went in Riley's - didn't (another?) Riley used to make cues, chalk and all that? Monteraze had a slightly later last orders than most pubs for some reason, so if we were having a good drink in The Brooklyn and/or Southfields and wanted to carry on we'd often taxi down to Monteraze. Becks on draft there (when it was about 5.6%) often led to the foolhardy group decision to 'carry on' again at chucking out time - over the road at Taskers.
