New Cycle Track

There's plenty room on Leverhulme Park for cycling. Why do we need a cycle track?

Because cyclists rule the fucking world now and deserve special treatment in all aspects of their lives.

Make sure you pass them leaving a metre clearance. They have cameras y'know.

So If I have to give them a metre clearance or face a fine. Will they get fined for riding 3 abreast? I doubt it.

Must admit that does my head in. Did quite a bit of cycling when younger, and always went single file when on normal roads. Only occasionally two abreast when on wide roads and back to one when cars came up.

Also a bit strange given that the new cycle way goes through leverhulme and will soon go much of the way to Bury.

Here, they veer off the road on to pedestrian crossings when they miss the lights so they can keep moving; go through red lights when they can see nowt's coming and the fucking cycle messengers are a nightmare and whizz along public footpaths with no regard for pedestrian safety.

They are a fucking menace and whilst I applaud their green credentials and efforts to be fit rather than a couch potato, their attitude that they are sinned against and untouchable needs to change before they'll get any sympathy from me.

Get some decent off road cycle paths made before a track. Preston is light years ahead for cycle paths. The one from Burden towards Bury,s a joke.

Agree about Preston but what's wrong with the Bury one?

Could do with clearing the detritus occasionally but its provided and a great access facility for cyclists and walkers alike.

Leverhulme, Raikes Clough, the old canal and gravel pits through to moses gate have many off road routes although I accept that for much of the year they are only usable by fairly able riders as they are so muddy.

It's badly signed, far too many bollards etc and seems to end without warning

Bollards and indeed unnecessary- some of the local ferrals are in the process of torching them.

There is now a sign explaining the sudden stop- Belway homes are currently building houses on part of the old track, as part of this the cycle way is to continue to Ainsworth road.

I've done the canal basin at Moses Gate park to Forest Bank via route 6 a few times.

No it's not, they've got drainage them football pitches where they're building, the pitch n putt was built on a natural lake, hence the stream through it. Good football pitches them, not used enough though.

Last time I was there was running from the track to the bowling green, one lad lost his shoe in the mud!

The outsold trail from Radcliffe asda to Phillips park is quite good too. Also the totty lines to green mount is a rewarding steady climb, then an effortless cruise back down. When this last stretch as mentioned above is done, you'll be able to go from Bolton centre via Elton reservoir to Burrs etc with barely a road to cross.

Played regularly on them when at primary school, doesn't seem the same now.

Will it stop grown men from dressing like Mr Motivator and ride 39 abreast along all the borough's roads?

Just because they think the word Peloton suddenly translates into English as "Do what the fuck you want. Shave your legs. Gaze longingly at each others widgies in all their tightly packed, lycra-clad glory. Fuck cars, they're for wankers"

Otherwise, who gives a shit? Yet another bribe has found it's way into the pocket of Lord DonutAndPastieCheeks CuntFuckObeseCouncilCunt Morris and his fucking fat, horrid cheeks can grow ever larger as his diabetes hits crippling levels.
