Daughter bought us some tickets for this as a xmas present via Beer and Food festival.

Absolute dogshit and a complete rip off.

£43 for two large steins and and a bottle of something they called white wine that came in a plastic decanter.

Left after 30 mins.

Aye. Its also the worse German beer I've ever tasted. Horrible after taste like a wheat beer.

Mate who went last night said it was shite.

£6 a pint and about as authentically German as being in a tent on Manchester.

Lots of my lot there tonight

Most of them Utd fans that moan they can't get tkts for games

Was in that excellent place cross the road from you last week

4.50 for 2/3s of a pint of the Brussels white and it was still a good do

Do we?

I think we're alright until folk start pretending we're in Bavaria.

I'd have to politely disagree with you on this. Going abroad makes me realise how naff our beer is etc. Manchester for example is a joke for drinking. Thinking it's trendy London in the centre with its prices when in fact it's just a bit shit

Spot on. Many of the pubs in Manchester are more expensive than London now. I was at that place just down the road from Akbars the other day near MOSI, the pub with the big outside seating area. Over £10 for a Heineken and white wine. And the walls were full of United shit.

One of the best pubs in Manchester is the Abercrombie but that looks like it's gonnna be demolished to make way for Nevilles and Giggs' little scheme.

This thread set off with some ingrate moaning about a shit Christmas present and then quickly became a grumble about the price of ale before turning into a love-in about pricy Belgian ale that tastes like milk shake.

Ace.

It's not a full circle until someone complains about sweet corn in lobby

The Crombie is ace; it's my work's local and Mile treats us really well

however....

It's also expensive - £4.50+ for a lager, and it's full of Utd stuff too so it matches your critique above to be fair.

It's still my favourite place in Manc. They are still fighting the Neville development and it's not over yet, but they'll not win.
