According to reports in The Mail, a trio of Premier League clubs are all interested in promising Wanderers youngster, Luca Connell. They say Southampton, Brighton & Hove Albion and Burnley are all being linked with the player.

what odds we get bum raped in the transfer market, again

I don't know how good Connell is or what he should be worth

but the PL is awash with money and there are lads who've never played first team football being sold/bought at stupid prices

even those who have one championship season under their belt are going for double figures (i.e. £10M+)

it's about time we get a peice of this

Can't see it myself. Until last Friday most Bolton fans hadn't heard of Connell. I'd be very surprised if any Premiership clubs came in for him.

There’s a fair chance most Premier League clubs know more about our youth set up than most Bolton fans.

Not on a pro contract so think it would go to tribunal. According to reports he hasn't signed a pro deal yet as talks have stalled...perhaps we could force him....or perhaps not...

We'll get nowt.

Is the window still open to force him to sign a pay as you play contract.....

We always seem to get f**ked over on transfer fees. But then we did get £6m for Madine....

If i were Connell I'd try and stay for a few years as he's unlikely to get even a slight look in at those clubs and could well end up having his career ruined like so many others have over the years.

i dunno how good he is, but if somebody can just come along and take him, we need to scrap the academy

pointless

as for what we get for players, you cant drive a hard bargain when everybody knows you need to sell

Agree. If Connell goes for peanuts there seems little point in funding an academy.

Aye the seemingly low amount we got for holding is off set by the daft value we got for madine.

That depends on how you view the Holding transfer.

We ended up with around £3m for a centre-half whose only league experience was 20 games in the Championship's worst defence shipping an average of over 2 goals per game.

We sold him as promising, end of. He would never have developed into the player he is now, had he stayed with us for a League 1 campaign. He'd never have made it until Christmas.

I know all that I've seen folk complaining we didn't get enough for him but not taking into account the situation we were in at the time.
