Made little attempt to integrate in Madrid, not learned the language won't go on team outings. I thought he was going to sign for TNS, TBH. The Sun (I know...) are saying he could be on £1m a week tax free. That may persuade him to manage with Skype.
Okocha10
Didn't even realise now when are in league one that our transfer deadline shuts on the 2nd September, thought we had about 2-3 weeks left then that's it, there's still hope! 😂
Johnnyrotten
Theres plenty of time to get a squad together for the season as a whole. It's whether we have enough players registered to satisfy the EFL that we can play at Wycombe. If we play that game, using at least some senior professionals that have been paid, I'll be happy for the foreseeable. I don't care if we lose 5-0, we'll be up and running. We'll be under a 23 squad registration limit as per terms of embargo. And the issue will be that to play our younger lads they will need to be registered and therefore fill squad places...so not sure how we'll approach it. Suspect we might break the record for number of signings in a day...
radcliffe white
Like I mentioned a while back Portsmouth were given permission to draft emergency loans in think it was 12 on 1 month deals. i suspect loans have been identified and are ready to go once we get the green light, they will see us through Wycombe and then free signings will start. Not sure 1 month loans work in our situation. Cannot see the EFL allowing that at all. But we'll see. So long as we have some sort of a team turn out - that will be ok. It was discretion of the football league, I’m fairly sure we will get something similar, but yes so long as we can start against Wycombe

Wanderlust
Dennis Politic - another hope for the future apparently being nicked. Won't even make the bench at Norwich but would be useful to us in L1. I feel abused.

Aye, whether or not they make it is another thing but our academy lads seem to get decent moves or attract attention from decent clubs

During 2016/2017, we were restricted to registering 24 “Established Players”. An established player, I seem to remember, was defined as a player who had at least one senior appearance to his name. Obviously it's extremely likely, but it's not actually guaranteed that we'll be under a transfer embargo upon leaving administration. That’s why there was the issue where Parky wanted to play a couple of younger ones but couldn’t.

Whoever is manager is going to be left with what they get given. That's fine by me, as long as we have a club to support - I think it's pretty much a given we'll be going down anyway, so I'd rather we just get through the season, and then pretty much start from scratch at the end of next season and start building again. if we have to play our kids, then so be it, it'll be a baptism of fire for them, but we might uncover a gem or two, that ordinarily would never get near the first team, that we can sell. If we do have to play with kids and flids, then hopefully the fans will realise the reasoning, and stick with it
Moderators Casino Posted July 23, 2019 Moderators Share Posted July 23, 2019 i hear hall is off but, if we keep the rest and add players decent at this level, id say theres no chance we go down so long as we start the season
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted July 23, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted July 23, 2019 Listening to radio 5 briefly, Kevin Nolan, discussing Andy Carol who is available on a free. Way out of our league obviously, but it shows there are players out there who might be half decent.
frank_spencer
Andy Caroll another one who career was ruined by injury. Absolutely unplayable on form. Shame he's made of balsa wood.
