Newton White Posted August 29, 2019 Share Posted August 29, 2019 Based on the fact that we will be in League 2 next season I think we need to be targeting the best young players from non league that we can develop. Relatively cheap/free and very little difference in the standard of football between div 2 and the conference. Loads of players in the conference who have been released from premier league academies who would jump at the chance to get back to a pro club. Newton White Posted August 29, 2019 Share Posted August 29, 2019 What we dont want to do is make the same mistake twice and sign players on championship wages/league 1 wages when we are almost certain of going down. As I said earlier miles better to take people on top end of conference/ league 2 wages that will still be with us next year if they are good enough and not too difficult to get rid of if they are not. If i paid quite a few million for a football club with no manager, the future one would be fully aware of what was needed and what he had to play with for wages.
