I thought the embargo was that the EFL had to approve any contracts, to ensure that they were sustainable, rather than any particular monetary value. Johnnyrotten Posted July 8, 2020 Share Posted July 8, 2020 Its irrelevant what he was on at Anfield, could have been £50k a week, but he's 36 and has played 25 games in 4 years and probably isnt inundated with offers. £2k and 1st choice keeper for us will probably be his best offer, he's unlikely to be 1st choice above Div 2. I liked a quote he gave - "I dont play for Liverpool, I train for Liverpool". He's 4th choice if Karius is still there as 3rd choice.
