Completely disagree. Hobbs would stroll div 2, wouldn’t have to break sweat in most games. Lowe is as fit as anyone, another that will find this league easily, he will be making tackles from 1st minute to last (but can’t shoot). O’Grady would be a good 2nd striker for last half hour if we aren’t winning, and I bet he puts more of a defensive shift in than a pure goal scorer like Doyle.

Hobbs wouldn't break a sweat because he'd be in the treatment room, hobbling around like a pensioner who'd done too much weeding in the garden.

I agree with your general premise, but wouldn't want lowe near this team. Would slow it down.

Bridcutt possibly.

However, Evatt seems to know what he wants which is obviously a good thing.

Its wonderful to actually have our business done early, time to get them fit and knowledgeable of the manager's plans and each other's game.

We've even won a pre season game too!

It’s also good to be just talking about football again. Talking about who we should sign, who we shouldn’t, who fits the system, how we’re going to play etc.

I can’t remember the last pre season where there wasn’t at least some talk of finances. Must be 5-6 years ago at least.

All we need now is to get confirmation that we’ll be allowed to go and watch and football (BWFC) is back to how it should be after a LONG time away. I don’t give a shit that we’ll be playing Harrogate and Barrow, I couldn’t give a shit that Wycombe are 2 leagues above us, I can’t wait for the season to start and see what happens with this new era!

There could definitely be some talk about our finances if we really wanted to, got a feeling the real pain is yet to come for football as a whole. And not being able to witness any of our trips to these places we will hopefully only have to visit once in a generation has without doubt watered down my excitement, personally.

But for us to still exist at all, be making signings, releasing kit, talking tactics, researching who our new players are is fantastic. Obviously it's still a strange situation and not like any normal pre season, but I'm so glad FV have actually been given the chance to be owners of a semi normal club. I bet they wondered at times if that would ever come.
