jayjayoghani
Bioimpedance scales are notoriously inaccurate. The scientific tool known as a mirror is more accurate
Whites man
I thought the only folk on here who bothered about fitness were little Henry, Fishbulb and myself with the rest of you not doing anything more strenuous than trying to keep up with the cashier when packing your bags at Aldi. Good stuff.

DazBob
Park run every week for me and footie two nights a week. Once cricket season starts I'll knock a game of footie on the head or my knee will finally pack in and/or I'll be single. I don't know how I'd cope if I couldn't do sporty stuff. Reckon I'd go nuts. DazBob
Hang on to it as long as you can. Murder when you have to give it away. Miss it every day. Aye, I intend to. Dread the day when I'm even more useless at footie and cricket to the point I feel I have to pack it in. I'll probably just end up being like that 1,000 yr old bloke I used to see running up Bury Rd with a rucksack of rocks on his back. Anyone know if he's even still alive? Someone must know him..? Members bolty58
I was forced to give it away under medical advice (and a fairly severe op). Played competitive football for more years than I care to remember but the latter years gave me the opportunity to play in the same team as my only son which are memories I will always treasure. Don't give it away until you absolutely have to.

DazBob
Is he the one who runs in a crash helmet? Could be, although I never saw him wearing one. Used to only ever see him in between town and the bottom of Crompton Way. Looked older than Yoda, but, bless him, obviously loved his running. birch-chorley
So far so good Signing up for the great North Run this weekend, that should keep me motivated through the year Just noticed that they do a half marathon in Manchester in October as well (not to be confused with the one they also run in May alongside the 10k). Meant to be flat as a pancake and great for PB's - anyone done it before? Can't work out if it's relatively new or not (the web site is shite)

For some reason I am entered into the Bolton Hill Matathon in June, you run from Moss Bank Park to the mast, fanny around Anglezarke then come back. My PB is 1h58m58s - which is way quicker To be honest, it was that massive downhill bit near the end that fucked me over when I did it, legs went to jelly after I did that far to quickly after a massive rush of blood to the head

Sweep
Don't see him out as much now. Slowing down too- seen him walking Surely he's dead - he was about 80 years old when I used to see him about 10 years ago. Last time I saw him, he was running at slower than walking pace, with a cycle helmet on, heading up Bury Road towards B'met

Can't work out if it's relatively new or not (the web site is shite) Done both Manchester 10K on numerous occasions as well as the GNR. Managed 1:55 in 2013 at the ripe old age of 53. Was pretty bulked out at the time at 14.5 stone so was amazed but it was one of those good rare days. Best was Nottingham in 1:38 back in 1999 when I was 39. Manchester is a great event but we've always had start line passes for both that and the GNR. They set you off in 4 waves with 40 mins wait in between. For some strange reason both events seem to suffer from unseasonably warm days. Not sure about a PB course as most people misjudge that the first third which up hill. The GNR is one of the hardest half I have ever done as you run uphill towards the sea from mile 7.5 until 11.5, then the downhill to the shore is so steep and short you cannot regain lost time.
