It's a complete con and pyramid scheme invented to make money and causes more bad than it does good.

Fuckin makes my shit itch.

There absolutely no substitute for a balanced diet and calorie deficit to lose weight.

If you buy juice plus you may as well buy an ounce of whizz and just stop eating all toghter.

each to their own buddy, but I have to say I've seen the results first hand off this and it's done wonders

Put a couple of stone on in the last 2 years. All down to booze.

Back to logging on my fitness pal and trying to cut out the booze for a few month should do the trick.

Having been around this industry for the last few years this book has some common sense and some great recipes and tips for those who want to eat lots of veg but find it boring. He is a medical professional who lost 6 stone himself 6 years ago and talks some common sense and keeps it simple. The Hairy Dieters books are also good as they also use ingredients that are available in any supermarket.

If Carlos is right and you do peddle this nonsense then it renders the debate null and void.

Ask any dietician or persona trainer and they will tell you this in no substitute and nothing more than a fad diet that deprives your body of vital components.

It was blasted on watchdog the other week ffs.

The PT's In my YMCA actively warn people against the harms of this bullshit.

I can just see Andy Murray or Mark Cavendish guzzling down a few halfs of juice plus for their tea.

Fuck right off. I've been there done it mate. I also know wankers round here that sell it gullible fat depressed women.

They are employed by the gym and make no extra money by giving you sound advice. In my gym the manager who I could gladly bring to this debate is a qualified personal trainer and dietician. The gym doesn't make money on diet advice.

Same as T5's and other crap. It's a scam.

Don't you sell this shit?

Better than a proper diet and hard training? Fuck off.

No, I don't but my wife does. She has hundreds of happy customers who are ordinary people who have been helped and she has hundreds of genuine and remarkable testimonials.

But yours and Gonzo's comments sound so familiar coming from red blooded males between 18 and 50 who have been gym bunnies most of their lives who tend to ignore that over 80% of the population never go near one or don't know where to start. Many overweight middle aged women would never entertain or know how to " go on a proper diet and train hard" as do people with joint problems or other ailments.

My wife got into it 3 years ago and at the time I thought it was a ponzi scheme, nothing could be further from the truth as I soon discovered when I researched it. To become a seller of the product costs a joining fee of just over £50 which my wife recouped within 2 weeks. No stock is bought. The proper term is " Multi level Network Marketing" but its not a ponzi scheme as no money is passed up from any individual. My wife sells by using all methods of modern communication to advertise the product. There are no "pressure sales" and anyone wishing to return unused product gets a full refund.

I also never believed that taking veg, fruit and berry capsules could do anything but after seeing the results on people I knew personally as well I did a trial myself and will admit that I was surprised at some of the effects. There are several peer reviewed papers on studies as to its effect of various aspects of this and I have added the link below. (Note: This is a juice plus page though clicking onto the links of the various studies/papers takes you to them)

The product is not solely as a weight reduction product but as something that is a way to obtaining some of vital vitamins, minerals and enzymes one gets from eating fruit and veg on a regular basis. A large proportion of the population are over fed and under nourished because they cannot or won't (for many reasons) eat fruit and veg. This product is one way of supplementing that loss to some degree.

In addition juice plus support when properly managed by the juice plus rep (as my wife does) gives advice of healthy eating, balanced diets and promotes the increase in cooking and eating fresh veg.

As a former health professional trainee we where taught not to dismiss out of hand anything that works for an individual.

Pt's and gym instructors and nutritionists health professionals?   : :!

Actually Cavendish and other athletes regularly drink specially prepared shakes and juices. wtf do you think they always cite the prep company when something appears in their urine tests?

You could lose weight if all you ate it lettuce leaves all day. As you and I both know the health benefits or lack of them suggest that isn't a very good idea.

BGOE, you've obviously got an agenda you need to stay on board with but you know deep down and full well there is no substitute for a balanced diet, no matter bullshit you copy and paste off the Internet.

It's the same area as muscle builders taking steroids. The health impacts can debated all day long. But the truth and fact of the matter remains, the same with juice plus and anything else, there is no substitute for a balanced and maintained diet. Full stop.

Half of them this way rent a space of the gym per month and are self employed, they tell you what you want to here to get as many in as possible

I train at YMCA mate. Hardly bulldogs muscle studio. I'd trust trained professional hired by a regulated company over your mate Cheryl down the the dog and duck that lost 3 stone drinking crushed berries and necking pills.

Pray tell Gonz which bit you think I cut and pasted? The links are to peer reviewed research. I have no agenda but you seem to have one that says anyone who doesn't do it your way is wrong.

Yes there is no substitute for a healthy balanced diet. But you are living in la la land trying to get the nation to go out and eat a balanced healthy diet. Below is the Eatwell plate that Dietitians have to promote in their work, trying to get Joe public to follow this has completely failed.

The NHS has been promoting  eating a balanced healthy diet that for the last 25 years yet as a nation we are growing more unhealthy. I am trying to say that  juice plus is supplementation plain and simple and there is definite evidence that it has helped thousands of people.

Dietitians will soon be able to prescribe supplements rather than writing out prescriptions that doctors simply sign. Supplementation of minerals, vitamins, enzymes and some precursors of co-factors have been prescribed by doctors for years.

When did I say any way but my way is wrong?

All I am saying is that there's is a gazillion better and healthier ways to lose weight and get healthy rather pay some dude for some capsules and a book about crushed vegetables.

Yes you do lose weight by doing it, but unless you run it along side a balanced diet and continue to do so when you've finished you will pile the weight back on. Just like any fad diet. Atkins, this, you name it. Any diet without the natural components your body needs is bad for your health imo.

It's about managing those components, not banishing them or replacing them with something else.

People see them as Miracle cure and then carry on back to square one. It's like trying to live off multivitamin tablets.

I have no agenda, just can't stand watching people spunk money on something that be achieved so easily elsewhere without lining some companies pockets.

Like Radcliffe says each to their own, but juice plus is a complete waste of money unless you radically change your diet and lifestyle to suit.

Something that if you did anyway , you wouldn't need juice plus.
