Anyone had a dabble?

I was told to get on bitcoin years ago but thought the lad who tipped me off was smoking crack. Turns out even a modest £1,000 investment then would have seen me become a multi millionaire now ffs

One lad I know has made about £700k on something called Ether from a few grand invested

Few of the lads are going balls deep into ripple bits as we speak

I'm weighing up a piece of the action

It looks like a volatile road but incredibly profitable if you land on the right peg

I knew about bitcoin years and years ago.  Some of the sites I use for torrenting and things have bitcoin as their preferred payment method due to you being able to donate anonymously.

I didnt think it would ever work, I didnt like the idea of my money being on a server, I didnt think it would ever be used for anything other than the dark web etc.

I'm a nobhead.

Can we invest in multiples of £2k? This is like a Sweepstake

I can send out certificates in £500 denominations, so that will be the minimum investement.

I've just received Traf's £10K.....and they're already worth £13K. Get in quick before they become too expensive

Through the $15,000 mark

Gutted I never got in years ago when my mate was telling me to do so, think it was less than $50 then

A £1,000 investment would be worth £300k now even if you got in at the $50 mark! It was under $1,000 at the start of the year

A friend from London has made over £1m from a £5k investment in Ether coin that’s also gone ballistic

Has to collapse soon surely! (I’ve been saying that for a while now)

P.s is anyone else getting constant adverts on social media trying to get you to invest!

In all seriousness when bubbles burst they can have huge impacts on global economies

I’m not sure how much value is tied up in crypto but it can’t be that long before it hits the trillion $ mark? If you think of that in terms of GDP of countries it would be in the top 15 globally

If it keeps ballooning then pops it’s going to have some repercussions somewhere. Let’s hope the banks aren’t balls deep into it like the sub prime housing markets

I don't think so - but I think the most recent surge is because CME is supposed to be imminently adding a Bitcoin Future to be traded on exchange which would enable banks to go balls deep into it (and short it)...anything could happen then. Looks like that might be postponed as the industry body has raised concerns today.
