Moon boy
25 minutes ago, Jol_BWFC said: So, a few points (I feel like i’m writing one of Ken’s blogs): 1. “The EU will make it difficult to leave the EU”. Of course they will. Why would they want a non-EU member to have a better deal than an EU member? This approach was known from the outset, so nothing new here - unless you were ignoring the obvious. 2. The timeframe set out by triggering Article 50 is not designed to create pressure, it is there to give certainty. A member state can’t say “I’m going to leave” and then never get round to leaving. You’re no doubt familiar with commercial contracts from your job, where long-stop dates are common. The two-year period is a long-stop, which also allows time to negotiate an exit deal. 3. The UK agreed to the text of the Lisbon Treaty. Article 50 is therefore not some new timeframe imposed unilaterally once we voted to leave. The suggestion this is an EU trap is absurd. The UK agreed to this timeframe in 2007 when it accepted the text of the Treaty. 4. Theresa May chose when to invoke article 50 and was aware of the two year time period when she did so. If she wasn’t ready to start the clock ticking, she shouldn’t have invoked article 50. 5. A remainiac PM isn’t ideal, but as previously discussed above, the Civil Service is not remain - it acts for the Government from time to time. Negotiations have been dealt under David Davis and Doninic Raab, both Brexiteers, so the suggestion this is solely as a result of remainers’ sabotage is ridiculous. 6. You seem to be suggesting that the blame for the UK population being poorer following the Brexit vote lies with the remainers. Even for you, that is really special. 7. If you agree we will need to go back to the EU in the future for further discussion, surely that is good reason to delay the exit by 9-12 months and do the negotiating now? In point 2 you imply a ‘long stop’ for the benifet of certainty but then in point 7 you advocate extending the negotiation by 9-12 months? In point 5 you try to absolve the Civil Service from trying too sabotage the process but that is exactly why Davies and Rabb resigned, Olly Robbins, senior Civil Servant, along with TM were negotiating secretly behind the backs of the appointed Brexit Ministers, surely they could not have done that on their own without back up, the Chequers agreement was a complete turnaround from previous speeches. If you want to blame TM for ordering Robbins to carry out her wishes see point

If you want to blame TM for ordering Robbins to carry out her wishes see point 6 The long stop is 29 March. That is fixed and can only be varied by agreement. Any extension would be us going back to the EU cap in hand to seek a variation of the agreed date, because the Government is unable to get its shit together. I’ve not said anything about absolving the Civil Service from blame. I’ve said (a) the Civil Service is not a group of remainers acting to sabotage. They act under the instructions of the Government from time to time and (b) this is not solely the result of remainers sabotage, as you seem to suggest. As for point 6, I restate my point. The suggestion that remainers are actually the ones to blame for the negative effects of voting leave is farcical.

Mounts Kipper
I see the yellow vests in France been demonstrating again today against the EU poster boy Macron, plenty of videos of them stamping all over the EU flag, while we’ve got dipisticks over here waving it around. Nobster
We see them most days in the valley, they have sprayed all the speed cameras lenses and keep lifting the barriers at the tolls. Seems to be a cross section to me mate, but Nobster will know better. Watching sky yesterday, they were doing a decent stream of footage, then once the water cannons were turned onto folk the presenter promptly came on and shied away from it. Pathetic isn’t it how the MSM try to divert attention from the failing EU ? Yesterday is a prime example.....thousands and thousands marching in Paris against the establishment, yet they choose to run the main headline as that plantpot James Goddard being arrested, naming.and shaming him before he’s even in the plod shop. Surely, that would jeopardise any future court proceedings ? Funny how those biased channels don’t give the same overage to other”activists” Good to see folk have woken up to the corrupt nature of the elite and globalists. A cross section, we have a lot of French friends over here from all walks of life and they all detest Macron. Whenever we see the yellow vests at the tolls there are no other political slogans or banners just a group united in ousting Macron, the revenue they are losing from tolls and speeding fines alone must be significant and the protests are getting larger every week even in the smallest cities.
