The law as it stands says we leave 2 weeks today, with or without a deal.

Notwithstanding any discussions about labyrinthine process, I was asked what I would vote if I were an MP and I answered.

My argument is hypothetical but it is known we can unilaterally revoke A50 and legal advice suggests the government can do so without parliamentary consent.

So if that was the threat you'd vote for her deal and I suspect most of the ERG would. It might be the only way to get her deal through....I don't know.

I guess that be the Armageddon defence.

Pretty risky on her part!

Sounds like a chess play.

Just sit there, running the clock down, doing nothing and then BOOM, smashing the table

And we're all pawns in the game.

Used to play for school team, many moons ago.

Once went to Bolton School for a match. The pre match spread was one of the best feeds I'd ever had!!

The Uk can revoke A50 unilaterally, yes, but I understand there would have to be a majority in Parliament, surely TM can’t do it on her own, even the Cabinet can’t agree on anything, don’t think that’s a goer

Unless there are changes to the backstop I can’t see  WA111 getting through, it may be close but I don’t think it will pass

The EU doesn’t meet till late next week, so we won’t know if or how long they will grant an extension to A50, as the 29th approaches I hope the ERG/DUP and Brexiteers throughout Parliament will have the balls to uphold the LAW and force ‘no deal ‘ through and end the doubt

Ok, this will cause a shit storm but it then gets rid of the whole paralysis, and we all deal with the consequences

So the Remainers in Parliament haven’t got the balls to table a vote to rescind A50 because they don’t want their names in Hansard for ever remembered as undemocratic traitors, can’t see TM and Hammond being daft enough to do it and put themselves forward for stoning

5/2

apparently, by end 2030

No deal by 30.03; 5-1

The British government can unilaterally revoke A50.

See this as a scenario - May's deal goes down. The EU reject an extension. Parliament has already voted against no deal and government policy is also that we should not leave without a deal on 29th March (that was their motion).

So May concludes that only option is revocation of A50. She can do that without parliamentary approval - according to their own legal advice!

Boom

Boom

And

Boom again

Game, set, match  Mr May

That would be fun, but it won’t happen, keep dreaming, be satisfied you’re gonna get a soft Brexit and I’ll satisfy myself with my shiny new blue passport. (Made in France).  And has Theresa turned into Terry. :)

Did anyone see Chris Green and Yasmin Qureshi on the breakfast sofa this morning?

Adjacent constituencies, opposing views.

Green was careful to pick his words, but in essence said he doesn't want this deal, was still hoping for no deal, but would probably end up voting for it due to circumstances.

He was the first MP I've heard, echoing my thoughts- take the deal now, whilst we can and work to improve it over the coming years.

Not the preferred route perhaps, but better than remaining.

Remoaning Nick Boles (Magdalen College, Oxford and Harvard and then Westminster City Council) wriggling and squirming. A true example of an arrogant establishment creature in the post-democratic age in which we now live. The first signs that people who believe in democracy up and down Britain will take action against the sneering, patonising know-alls who infest our Parliament. Well done to the local Conservative Association in Grantham and Stamford for putting this wretch in to this position.

Your time is nearly up - along with many others of your ilk on both left and right. You are not in the real world.

If the future of democracy is sensible, moderate MPs being forced out by angry, aggressive, extremists then it will only make our country even more of a laughing stock than it already is on a world stage.

Please explain how people who want to uphold the largest democratic vote ever in this country are extremists.

So the Conservative Association in Stamford and Grantham are angry, aggressive extremists for objecting to this character failing to represent what local people voted for by 61/39 ? In making such sweeping and general comments you must know them all personally. Or perhaps you just think that anybody who doesn't see the world in the same way as this "sensible moderate" anti-democrat is therefore an extremist?

He’s received death threats. I think anyone grown up and adult who is worth listening to can understand differences of opinion without resorting to implicit and explicit threats of violence and even death to try and force someone out.

Boles is voting for the withdrawal agreement. So he’s voting for Brexit. To be forcing him out via threats and intimidation for voting with his government...that’s extremist. And there can be no argument otherwise.
