Yet at every turn they've been wrong since the 80s. The answer to any problem from the likes of Verhoefstadt is "more of the same" - a one speed journey to federalism. The Catholic Church of days gone by isn't a bad comparison - imposing rules and regulation inflexibly and from on-high. I've said it a few times - in the minds of the arch-remainers, the EU is deified.
