Blondi
Looking to buy one, been looking at the Peugeot 208gti and the Fiesta ST. I've got about 12K to spend on one. Any recommendations of a hot hatch for a geezer in his mid 40's would be much appreciated! ( I did own a 205gti back in 89 btw)

Blondi
Sorry, meant a newish hot hatch, about a 2014 plate.
frank_spencer
Sorry, meant a newish hot hatch, about a 2014 plate. The Seat or Skoda ones should be pretty decent for the price as they'll be golf/polo without the price. Â The auto trader website will be a cracking starting point for research Edited October 29, 2017 by frank_spencer

Site Supporter Alf Hartigan Posted October 30, 2017 Site Supporter Share Posted October 30, 2017 I’ve got a 208 gti and it’s a cracking car for the price. Paid 12 grand for a 15 plate about a year ago. Looked at the fiesta st but didn’t like the interior. Get the 208 prestige thp and put a smile on your face. If you can afford a bit more than get a focus st or a VW Golf R

gonzo
Still manage another 100k.. Â Dreading van shopping Aye it's a Trojan. Â Problem with the engine mount at the minute. Bit of a ball ache to sort out but it's keeps cutting out due to loose connections. Bit hairy on the m6 on Saturday when all power went at 70mph and a flashy spring / cog light came up. Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted October 30, 2017 Site Supporter Share Posted October 30, 2017 Still manage another 100k.. Dreading van shopping I get pissed of with the road tax on vans being so punitive. An efficient engine, with lower emissions than plenty of cars yet get stung. No incentive.
