Wrong time for this one Ken. Needed to wait a few more weeks at least. Wasn't long ago you announced we were going into administration. Bit too early to try and pretend its a media conspiracy and everyone is being too negative.

Seems reasonable to me

The calling for higher attendances is naive, mind

He’s right to have a pop at iles and constant negativity.

Hes needs to pipe down about the crowds though. The only thing that will get more people in is lower tickets prices and winning more football matches.

It’s been debated on here ad infinitum but the ticket prices would make fuck all difference other than negatively affecting the overall income.

Most clubs would be down to their relative hardcore when you start the season without a sniff of promotion. It’s a sad fact of life that we only have a certain number of fans in the first place, and the missing 10,000 will only turn up when we’re chasing going up. Even then, let’s not pretend that it was on a regular basis in League One either, even heading towards the end of the season.

That said, Ken does need to change the record on this front, if nothing else because it’s only the converted who read these statements anyway and it just gets a little tiresome when they’re the people who ARE turning up.

Aye you’re right. If it was cost effective it’d happen. But it’s been trialed many times and obviously isn’t.

But if we aren’t talking about cost effectiveness, and KA is hell bent on getting a couple more thousand through the door, lower prices would certainly help, if only a little.

Theres no point him keep moaning about it unless he’s prepared to listen to ways of making the matchday experience better imo.

Bottom line is we are medium size club ken would of known this when he took control

bolton is not a rich area and £30-32 is just too much

on the other hand sweaty can win he offers discounts and it doesn’t make massive difference in the gate

remember a bolton mate mocking burnley few years back for getting 10k we won’t be far off

Aye

The games he cites as 20k plus gates were £5 v chesterfield when we were 2nd and the last day v Peterborough where a win sealed promotion

We also got 18k v bury when a win would've almost sealed promotion

Prior to that we were around 14k

So cheap tickets and / or a whiff of promotion is what does it

Because of his failure to find us a suitable investor, he is heavily relying upon us, the fans to provide the largest funds to the club, through tickets.

For most clubs, ticket sales are now no where near their biggest area of funding.

Either way though, I can agree that the attendances have been very poor so far, not even hit 15k yet. But Ken needs a reality check, as a few weeks ago we heard administration, and handing out £30+ tickets for poor football.

there must be people on here who don't go  why not?

tell the class , is it price , style of football , transport.

do you moan if we lose, if so why , the club needs money more than ever before , so feel free to return to the unibol to support your team

Its the entire match day experience. Its so sterile with the Orange Warriors looking for the slightest reason to chuck you out. My 8 year old loves away matches, loves the whole day but I cant drag him to a home game for love nor money as its simply boring. When the match day experience at home is easily second best to Fortnite then the entire thing needs looking at.

ticket money isnt the largest income stream

i think its 3rd

the football is so poor, we are a point from top 6 - if folk think this is poor, theyve either got short memories or are jcls

In fairness I think its because we aren't playing free flowing tiki taka.....most people just want an excuse to moan or not attend. "Won't go till Megson, Coyle, Freedman, Lennon, Parkinson goes..."

I'm enjoying this season. Not sure what isn't to like given 2 years ago I feared we might end up in the bottom league again. Now we're holding our own in the championship. Something that looked so far away from being possible 3 seasons back. And even last season, the memory of survival with the worst squad we've ever had at this level, is one I'll never forget.
