Thing was nobody knew where the list was or who was responsible for it or what properties were on it

Don't you get a "Due by" and an "If not paid by yadda yadda yadda" date? Maybe if a company breaches the first they get the threat of a winding up order. BWFC is a very large and well known company and news even within HMRC offices would soon leak to the outside world. Other companies which maybe aren't so well known (or newsworthy) would remain fairly private because no bugger gives a toss.

stevieb
Just heard Southend are subject to a winding up order from HMRC too, the 12th one in the last few years. Someone check on SouthendWays if their chairman is a sweaty chancer too.

Kane57
There's a good piece in the Mail today about him. Though within it mentions a senior player having to loan a younger one some money to get by, which sounds sad. While Bolton's players awaited their delayed salaries, one senior star lent a cash-strapped young player £1,600 so he could pay his bills and put petrol in his car. I'd be surprised if 10k was average - it might be the top end, but average would suggest there's players on more than that, which I would doubt

Looks like the tennis ball thing has been thought better of (or warned off!) But I suspect some may still do some chucking.
