Was talking about this earlier, there seems to be a move towards opinion based stuff in BN these days, the tweets from the main account usually leads with an opinion rather than just a headline now too.

I don't mind it to be honest, whether I agree with the opinions or not it at least makes the paper more interesting

Totally disagree.

He's paid to report the news, not write his own personal blog.

What's the point in reading his stuff if it's all opinionated and not balanced reporting?  I believe shit like that is labelled 'fake news' these days.

He's been biased against Anderson and pro the ST from the very beginning as can be evidenced in that he's never commented on anything negative against the ST even though they've done plenty of things they wanted to get Anderson thrown out of the club for such as not filing their accounts on time and not holding their AGM; Or him even doing the most basic of checks with the club/Anderson without rushing to print, such as the latest scare of admin staff were not going to get paid on time (Anderson's email to them specified exactly what was going to happen and their wages were going to be paid particularly if they had financial concerns), or to my recollection ever saying anything negative at all about Holdsworth or the BluMarble loan he took out on club assets, which has been central to the financial issue we've/Anderson has had ever since that time and which still casts a shadow over our future (Eddies/Moonshift's loan).

The upshot of Iles totally biased and opinionated reporting is to set himself up as a rallying point (particularly on his own personal Twitter account) for stirring up the rank and file - and in this case totally ill informed - Wanderers fans against Anderson.

It's not his or the papers job to lead a witch hunt, no matter how much distasteful he personally may think Anderson is.

It seems not coincidental to me that the ST's public letter more or less telling Anderson to get out of the club was published just a day or so before Iles reported that the poor impoverished single parents employees at the club were not going to be paid (they were of course), closely followed by Iles tweets implying Anderson had told lies about having buyers for the club (without seeking clarification of the matter first) and now a few days later reporting that Parkinson and the backroom staff still had outstanding bonuses from last season (does anyone really believe that this is the first he's known about it just now, even though its been going on for four months and he himself wrote at the time of the players unofficial strike that the backroom staff as well as the players were speaking to the club/Anderson about unpaid bonuses way back in August?).

Almost as though Iles and the ST smell blood?

Iles and the Bolton News are there to 'report' on the news, not to create it - nor more to the point to gossip and shit stir about it.

I guess as long as the company is selling more papers on the back of Iles 'journalism' then they'll be happy enough but its blatantly clear to me that Iles backed the wrong horse in a two horse race and still hasn't got the sense to see where he went wrong, or why,  just as long as he (and his buddies) can get even.

I'm not reading all that but the line about backing the wrong horse intrigued me - he'll likely still be in a job whenever Ken leaves, so how can he have backed the wrong horse?

The answer is contained in what I've written that you can't be bothered to read.

Two points

Its a nothing article

And, they'll be lucky to find a club 'paying' what we do

Just out of interest I wondered who the 'source' might be who fed this 'exclusive' story to the Mail's Mike Keegan - which included todays tit-bit of Parkinson not being paid his last seasons bonus.

"A source said: 'There is a feeling now among some players that enough is enough. A number have asked their agents to find them moves away. They are sick of being let down".

Surprise, surprise, Marc Iles and Mr Keegan know each other - Keegan was/is based in the north west (he mainly now only reports on United and City - see link below) and they both follow each other on Twitter.

Small world eh.

But I'm sure it is just all a mere coincidence - don't you?

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/search.html?s=&authornamef=Mike+Keegan+For+The+Daily+Mail

https://www.responsesource.com/bulletin/news/keegan-returns-mailonline/

How much do you bet that Iles leads on Keegan's 'exclusive' tomorrow?

There’s not a single player in the squad we couldn’t replace with someone equally as incompetent. If anyone wants to leave then show them the door.

Id show the door to the majority of the squad anyway

Might be a struggle to attract new players if they don't think they'll get paid

Personally, I’d rather play the kids, strip right back, accept relegation and live more within our means.

It would be horrible to watch for a few seasons but better than the alternatives of possible liquidation if we keep trying to compete.

TV and rich owners have ruined football. We can’t compete on the rich owner front and nobody gives a toss about watching us on TV. I’m afraid our next stay in the bottom 2 divisions won’t be a short lived 12 months

I doubt many can. You really should consider being more concise, look how everyone else interacts on public forums. I don't mean any offence by it but as soon as I see your name I scroll and even that takes longer than it should. Your last post above being quite punchy caught my eye.

2 things:

Iles is a c**t

Sweaty Ken is also a c**t

Its shit not getting paid, and its wrong, but they are hardly on the breadline, they won't be walking around in Lonsdale trainers and a Talibs top that's for sure.

The playing and back room staff consists of high and low earners so not everyone is affected in the same way.

Suppliers who are owed money are also affected in Different ways.

If the rumours are true that are eminating from the club we won’t make it through jan unless we have a fire sale.

After that we wouldn’t get through feb.

The game is nearly up for Ken imo.

Now you see the truth, many fans have stupidly and unreservedly backed Ken.

Sadly it’s all turning to shit, thank fuck the ACV was secured and let’s hope we don’t need the ST but if we do at least it’s a short term vehicle to protect the club while something else comes along.
