We'll probably go down to 9 or 10 thousand season tickets next year as it stands, but with more folk paying on the day depending on results.

And those who don't renew won't pay on the day either, they'll use ticket prices as an excuse not to go

Bookies have 3 going down from Ipswich, us, Rotherham, Reading and Hull - a big gap to the rest

we are 8/11, second favourites behind Ipswich but a shorter price than Rotherham

More disappointingly Wigan and Blackburn are 25/1 and 33/1 to go down

That’s about right imo. If Wigan and Blackburn are not in the championship next season, it’s not because they’ve been relegated.

Reports saying Ipswich will find £10m for Lambert in January. Big risk giving him that sort of poke, he’s shite

That's the reality..

But it will reduce each year unless we see something to light our fire.

When it comes to loyalty down the leagues, we're nothing like Norwich. Portsmouth etc

Aye the last time we did 3 seasons at this level our gates ended up kicking on 10k.

Id bet there was only that through the door on Saturday.

Norwich yes but no surprise as they’ve no competition as for Pompey it’s a myth they’ve not got loads of fans and certainly numbers in attendance never been big at any level they’ve played.

Certainly for a lower level club in recent years Portsmouth’s home and away support has been impressive

It’s been steady at between 15-18k but it’s not that impressive when you look at the catchment area and the fact they Portsmouth has one of the denses populations in the UK. Compare the competition around Bolton and it’s no wonder we continue to struggle for support.

That given but you still have to get folk through the door which they do

Pompey is about the same size as Bolton, they’ve got Premier League clubs either side and they’re getting 17-19k on in a ground that holds 20k. They’ve been in League One and League Two for seven seasons.

That’s pretty fucking good.

It is. They also seem to have adopted a real siege and support mentality amongst their fans. Even when they were losing every week in league two they were still getting 15k or so and they were all making a racket.

It'd be interesting to know how they managed that and what the match day experience is like there.

At the time they were losing every week they were supporters trust owned I think it helps when fans are invested in the club at that type of level of course to progress up the leagues you need proper owners with real money, something they now have and currently everything looking positive for Pompey unlike ourselves and yet they are only averaging  couple of thousand more than we did in similar position a couple of years back.
