Fantastic performance by a fantastic team brought together to fight for a fantastic club by a fantastic manager

Fantastic

My take on it was big well done to the steward who gave him a dig

Poor chap then got kicked out

I missed what started it, the steward who got kicked out is a really nice lad. Old bill should have been in sorting that out, I thought it was gonna really go off at one point.

Another post to praise Henry. Don’t think we’d won before he came in. It was plain to see after about three games this season that we missed some bite in midfield without Spearing, and I was puzzled as to why we let that one go (wage demands etc. aside), then went for Henry, who I just saw as an old clogger.

Always willing to give players a chance though, and I decided Henry was the better player all round after his first game.

Nothing wrong with Buckley at all for me. Then again some of our fans still haven’t taken to Pratley. As has been said about Buckley, fans make their mind up and that’s it.

ALF, Alnwick, Ameobi and Burke all excellent, Taylor, Flanagan, Derik, Vela decent too.

Nothing much wrong with Beevers either, just not totally convinced about him if we're going to move forward at this level. If Beevers was right footed, Wheater would be in there ahead of him IMO.

Robinson is a great option off the bench when we’re holding on to the lead too. Will get up and down, and can carry it forward to relieve pressure.

Echoing Casino’s comments about love of this team as well. So reminiscent of an Allardyce Bolton side, with every player fighting for the cause and willing to grind out everything for a 1-0 win.

The pure elation I’ve felt at the final whistle for both the Sunderland & Villa games lately has confirmed I want it as much as the players too. Which is what it’s all about.

Can’t even comprehend being an armchair glory supporter and not going through those motions. It’s just not football.

Anyone criticising any of our players today can seriously fuc5 off.

Same about the manager. Where are the deluded pricks saying he can only play one way ? There are a few on here who need to hold their hands up and admit they were wrong.

We have a team that is more than the sum of its parts to see players putting in as much as this lot are doing is brilliant. Every one of their team would be better rated than their equivalent in ours but not sure I would swap any of them.

Due to weather and what turned out to be anearly 3 hour drive home I nearly fucked it off today. So glad I did not.

Alnwick was brilliant.

Henry ran the show.

Villa liked a whinge.

Buckley was possibly the only negative.

Didn't enjoy watching on the sofa rather than being there.

Was Buckley’s only good game for us :D

Battlers indeed

Shit game, great result. Bolton doing what we do best

Good ground out win that

Villa had some decent chances which they squandered or we defended brilliantly, bit never felt we were under the cosh or owt

For as well as Buckley broke forward at every opportunity when he got to the final 3rd he didn't seem to know what to do, he wasn't shit but he wasn't great, he just kept letting himself down

Highlight was the steward having a crack at their fan who was being carted out

I couldn't get over folk leaving on 80 minutes today either to beat the traffic or watch from under the stand. An exciting game, finely balanced and our support was needed more than ever. What's wrong with some folk?

that’s my beef with Buckley he can break forward ok

Today he had a great chance to go on himself but ball ended back at our defence maybe a confidence thing

Edit = Lad fighting stewards at 4m-10s

Some people get to their seats far too early for my liking

Once at burnden through no fault of my own I was standing on the burnden terrace waiting for the game about 30 minutes before kick off and it all just felt a bit odd

Why would you want to watch players warm up? Just weird, for me

Expected the result but not that weather!

Just the kind of performance I thought we'd put in. We always raise our game for the bigger clubs.

Onwards and upwards and to all those who said we'd get smashed, FFS - KTF.
