DazBob
Afternoon all. On 21st April me and two others will be walking from Sowerby Bridge in Yorkshire, along the canal all the way in to Manchester City centre. It's a mere 55k. We're doing it to raise money for the We Love Manchester Emergency fund which helps those affected by last year's MEN Arena bombing. If you could donate any spare cash you've got, no matter how small, it's be hugely appreciated. Ta very much. Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted April 3, 2018 Site Supporter Share Posted April 3, 2018 Is the start point the highest point? Anyway good luck with the blisters.
DazBob
Apparently not. Starting point is 86m above sea level. Manchester city centre is 300m or so higher. It suddenly sounds even harder as it's now turned into an uphill walk. Cheers.

Manchester is only 51m above sea level. Take a skate board and roll.

DazBob
Mother fuckers! Pure Challenge, the company that was running the event has emailed us this morning to say they've gone into administration and the walk is cancelled and they advise all participants not to do the walk for safety reasons. Fuck that! We are still doing it.
