So we are where people thought we would be. Although I thought we would be lower I accept that is what people expected.

But because we are boring people want rid of Parky. Out of interest has anyone asked fans of others clubs about Parky ? All the ones I know think he is doing an incredible job.

Fans from other clubs don’t have to sit and watch us play 1 up front and have 19% possession in a deserted ans silent stadium every week.

I think people are just starting to panic that this might be one catastrophic run too many and the damage might ireparable.

You cant blame folk for being concerned and even more so you can’t blame folk for not wanting any more nights like Wednesday.

Trouble is under Parky, you know the next night like Wednesday is just around the corner.

Read back through the post it’s not just because we are boring

Quite. As for Ani's question, personally I had no real idea of where I expected the team to be, other than a somewhere higher than last season, particularly given some of the signings.

I also expected development in what was being shown on the pitch. Initially, that seemed to be happening, but we now seem to have gone backwards

You must admit that both the current form, results and performance wise is deeply worrying. It’s relegation form with no signs of turning around.

I think Parkinson has had an incredibly difficult job but if we want to progress realistically he may need potting.

Wednesday night wasn't boring, it was just awful

We're around where I hoped we'd be (i.e. not in the bottom 3), and the performances are generally what I've come to expect, though after a bright start it seems we're regressing

if he can turn it around like he did last season, fine, and we'll hopefully grind out another season in the same manner of lots of shit performances with a few good results (but don't be surprised like KA seems to be if people stop going)

he's been able to put his own squad together, he's had money to spend on strikers, and he's landed freebies who were in demand as opposed to them all being free agents with nowhere to go

so he needs to sort it out

if he can't, and we head back into the bottom 3 with one win in 14 or something, it doesn't really matter what he achieved last season or the season before, he's likely to get sacked

(then it'll be the fans fault no doubt)

Not too sure whether potting Parky if we say lose tomorrow is the best thing to do, I would give him until maybe Xmas and if we're rooted to the foot of the league or are looking like certs for relegation, then maybe get rid. I just can't see who we are going to attract that can do a better job considering what PP has had to endure.

About where we are. But take out the first four games we must have the worst points since. This is a big game Saturday. As some have said fine to set up defensive v.forest Leeds Boro etc but not week in week out v bottom half dross. Dross football is only acceptable if winning. Dross football and losing equals job centre

For the last 10 games we have the second worst record in the league (6 points). The team with a worse record - Hull (5 points).

Hmmmm

Really

Fwiw, I do like him and if we are going to lose I'd prefer to do it with him, but in demand?

I doubt it

Preston, Blackburn, Sunderland and Bradford were all linked

I doubt he was short of offers with ours the only one on the table

Parky has done a good job the last couple of years but he's a dinosaur, nobody plays like that anymore, it's boring, hit and hope that something comes off. One shot on goal per game is not going to bring fans rushing to buy half season tickets. Ken is a business man he needs to put on a product people want to come and watch, unfortunately for parky he's driving people away. He's a nice guy and he'll always be well thought of but he's gone has far has Phil neal and we now need a Bruce rioch.

So, 2 teams in our league

I'll concede him just to move on

Two of our targets ended up at Wigan

Think that speaks volumes....We picked up decent players, but we weren't in a position to be picking up owt that good

Ken needs us to stay up

How we do it really isn't important

It is like Brexit , change it and things will be better. But no suggestions of what better looks like or what it means.

Bradford fans had very similar views on Parky and they got Stuart McCall in.  Worked out very well.

It's not really

We all know what better is because we've experienced it first hand, you even admit yourself you find it baffling at times, it's not hard to envisage a team that looked like they have been coached during the week, look organised and not give it away cheaply

We even managed it ourselves for 5 minutes the other night

People need to get a grip its not going to be entertaining its not going to be expansive its going to be us trying to keep out of the bottom three for another attritional year ......

Oh that it was different but its not so stop whinging & get behind our team

Severe limitations are there for all to see in terms of squad quality .Two widemen is positive tactically but if the wingers are shite its a liability . So the conundrum .Play narrow & get swamped out or wide & get jack shite.

A sows ear of a fucking job

Getting rid of Parkinson wont help I am sure.

Oh yes he signed them up .........those expensive wingers .

The important thing is we dont slide aka eighties. ...which was fucking grim

I went to Rotherham. We were shit and came home with a point. Rotherham then went to Top of the the table Borough and got a point!

Couldnt go Wednesday so gave my tickets up. Though did listen on GMR, we were shitterer (according to general opinion)

Had a choice today of going the match or finishing the (never ending) 3 week bedroom ferurb, 4 pints of Guinness in last night, I decided on the later. Not because of the temperature, shit beer, shit atmosphere, or ball ache of the return Leigh match bus; but because I'm getting fucked off with none entertainment and some of the shit I have to listen too around me. Seriously considering jibbing my two ST (£900 WSU) and just doing aways next season. At least you enjoy the aways W, L or D.

Yours Sincerely

Mr Early Season Apathy.

You can play well and lose and play shite and win.

i can take defeats but the alarming thing at the minute is the manner of the defeats. Performances seem to be going backwards. Whether that is down to PP or the players we simply don’t know but I know where I apportion the majority of the blame at the moment

we very rarely have a fantastic performance and blow a team away 3 or 4 nil ( I can only remember 2 of these in his time with us)

we win today and again like the majority of wins under him in this division it masks the problems, anything else and he is really struggling & the justification for keeping him gets smaller and smaller

The worrying thing for me was Parkys interview the other day, he seemed like a beaten man saying the same old thing. Even if we win today, I still think he needs not to lose to both Villa and Swansea to save his job.

who comes in if he does go? Big Mick, Gary Bowyer, Steve Bruce? Stuck somewhere between a rock and a hard place

Them dingles hate Bowyer. Maybe he underachieved with them when they spent big.  He did a good job under very tough circs at Blackpool. Maybe much of a muchness though.

Don’t think we’d have the money to spunk up what Bruce would want.

Big Mick would get us organised but again plays pragmatic football. Organised would be an improvement though.
