Have You Ever Seen The Isle Of Man From Blackpool ?

On an ultra clear day and the sun in the right spot you can just about make out the outline behind the wind turbines.

Better from north promenade rather than central on the high bit.

Cracking views of the lakes along the coast too.

Still baffles me how you can see the sea from Chorley.

It's easier for you to see the IoM anyway, with you being 6'3",

There’s a pub called sea view in Chorley and yes you can see the sea out towards Southport.

Managed to clock it in Barrow from the slag banks and that's 51 miles away, and it was a very clear day, it's 63 miles from Blackpool to the I.O.M as the crow flies.

I didn't know you can see the sea from Chorley, that's blown my mind a bit

not sure what point in Chorley Gonzo is on about, but technically Rivi Pike is Chorley and you can see for miles from there - Blackpool Tower / Sea, Welsh Mountains, mersey estuary, everything

so all you need is a big hill in Chorley

Like mounts says you can see it at the sea view inn at the top of buckshaw.

Didn’t know the place was still going, used to meet the Neville longs boys there for an Xmas drink back in my old life

as Gonk says, from Horwich also

when you're coming down Chorley Old Road / Church Street from the crofters near arcon, def see the tower from there on a clear one, again, it's up a hill

just had a look at  the sea view inn on google maps, scrolled around, but couldn't see the tower

thought I could for a second, but as is so often the case, it turned out to be a pylon

I did not know this either. I've vastly improved my knowledge of Chorley today, just on this thread.

I'm hungry for more exciting Chorley facts

Up until recently they had a pub called the black boy.

It had a picture of little golliwog on the board outside.

Either that or the earth really is flat.

Saw some bloke from Bolton giving a talk on YouTube about the earth being flat and how you can see Blackpool tower from Winter Hill and saying it was impossible.

It is if you don't factor in the height of winter hill you bellend
