Don’t rate that Aspire lounge

Only been in once mind, seem to recall it was a bacon butty, free coffee, free beer (some shite like Carling though) and a free paper

Didn't think it was worth it at the time so haven’t bothered since. The food and drink on offer in the airport bars and restaurants is better (IMO),,appreciate your going to end up spending a little bit more though

Was in there just before Xmas.

You’re right, Its not worth it.

2 choices of bland food - one hot, one cold.

They have now removed the fridges full of Self-service bottled beer too.You now have to ask a member of staff each time you want a drink. That’s if you can find anyone.

Didnt see any papers neither.

Wont be going back.

Thanks pal, going to drive up, quite looking forward to getting on the road for the first time in months! It’s about the same door to door to be fair by the time you’ve got to the station at this end and parked up.

Flexible food wise really, love a good steak, other than that British, gastro pub food, Italian etc

Will keep my eyes out for PM

👍🏻

What time do you get to the airpirt to justify these lounges

It just seems to take longer Nd longer to get through manc

Fuck knows what its like now

We get there about 2.5 to 3 hours before and generally have time for a mooch and a beer

Then its time to go

Allowed in 3 hours before your flight. Two cups of coffee, a bacon barm and a couple of beers and it’s paid for itself versus the outlets downstairs. No pissing about trying to find a table etc. They are a lot more restrictive than when you used to be able to pour your own spirits etc though.

We recently started our last two long-haul holidays in the lounges; New York via Heathrow and Dubai direct. When you consider an all day breakfast is around £15 in the restaurants, £25 is great value.

A mate of mine is in Corfu and says it's absolutely dead and his holiday is all the better for it, some of the few Brits he spoke to were having a full month out there avoid Covid back home.

He also rated the half full flight out as a far better experience as well, him and his family ended up with near enough a row each apparently.

Aside from this, I know it will be within my travel insurance T&Cs, but does anyone know how the land tends to lie for cancelling holidays for a bereavement?

Went through this a few years ago.You will have to provide proof of the bereavement to whoever you booked with and even then it took a few months to get a refund

Hoping it won’t be necessary and either the requirement quarantine upon return from Tenerife gets lifted or we can switch to Greece/Malta/Turkey.

Work are actually ok with me self-isolating when I get back but in a nutshell my dad passed away suddenly yesterday evening and self-isolating would mean we’d be able to go to his funeral but not the wake so a bit of a non-starter. I’d have knocked the holiday on the head if it wasn’t for my dad saying the other day how glad he was that me and my Mrs were taking my lad away so we’re determined to do it one way or another now and then be back in time for the funeral.

All in the very capable hands of Lord Traf who will be having several small churches built in his honour throughout the north west if he manages to pull this off.
