Hoping it won’t be necessary and either the requirement quarantine upon return from Tenerife gets lifted or we can switch to Greece/Malta/Turkey.

Work are actually ok with me self-isolating when I get back but in a nutshell my dad passed away suddenly yesterday evening and self-isolating would mean we’d be able to go to his funeral but not the wake so a bit of a non-starter. I’d have knocked the holiday on the head if it wasn’t for my dad saying the other day how glad he was that me and my Mrs were taking my lad away so we’re determined to do it one way or another now and then be back in time for the funeral.

All in the very capable hands of Lord Traf who will be having several small churches built in his honour throughout the north west if he manages to pull this off.

Sorry to hear about your Dad mate. Hope you can have a decent holiday.

Sad news, matt

No quarantine req, at the moment for tenerife

And nobody will know anyway

Self isolation rather than quarantine, I suppose.

“Returning to the UK

If you are returning from Spain (including from the Balearics and Canaries) you will be required to self-isolate on your return to the UK“

So they aren’t advising against travel there, but we’ve still got to go under house arrest for a fortnight when we come back. So as far as the holiday companies are concerned, the Balearics and Canaries are still open as normal and tough shit if you can’t go to work (or your parent’s wake) when you get back. No idea how they track these things, of course, or how successful they are, but it would be a risk to ignore it really.

Cheers for your thoughts gents. He was out for a walk, sat down for a bit of a rest and just keeled over and never woke back up.

You can see why people want to holiday in Spain etc... for the fucking sunshhhiiiiine 🌞

2nd day in the lakes and it hasn't stopped raining since about 11.30pm last night and the forecast on average for the next 10 days is a 50% chance of rain, and 40% on Friday when its apparently going to be flagging cracks!

Lets hope by the time the summer season starts next year that this has gone away, but i have a feeling its the new normal for the foreseeable.

It's very green and with lots of lakes for a reason you know.

On the other hand was up there one easter (late 80's) and was sunbathing in the morning, whilst it was snowing in Bolton

Its not stopped me venturing out, beautiful place the LD, it is what it is, you cannot control the weather, you just hope it keeps dry while you scale a 300ft Peak, unfortunately we suffer all the elements weather wise. Pubs are open though, thank fuck!  😁

Whereabouts are you staying?
