What about Rhodes/Corfu/Kos,Kefalonia? Still warmish in Oct, should be a decent amount of sun unless you're unlucky.

I'm currently sipping a strawberry daiquiri staring out at the Ionian  sea. It's very hot here in parga and forecast to be even warmer next week

Just got back last night from Protaras in Cyprus and it was fantastic, scorching weather all week. Went for a friends daughters wedding and apart from us lot, the hotel was very quiet all week so we was spoilt rotten with the service.

I've not seen 1 greek wearing a mask here. Only people wearing them are tourists. Not even the people working in bars, Supermarkets, restaurants etc are wearing them. And as for bars closing at 12am. I left my local at 3am this morning and 4 or 5 bars I passed going home were still going strong

have you got your i follow passcode for saturday yet?

We got back from a week in Crete last Sunday. 30 Degrees every day  and pretty much clear blue Skies. We stayed in Mitsis Laguna about 25 Km from Heraklion. Masks "obligatory" until 30th September then extended to 4th October. 95 percent of people following this request, especially moving around the Restaurants and bars. Even in the nearest town (Hersonissos) most people had masks, especially the limited number of Tourists. It was pretty dead though in the Town as it looks like it caters mostly for British people and there weren't so many around.

Biggest annoyance was at the Airport on the way back. Tannoy announcements every couple of minutes telling people to wear Masks (Mandatory), but still plenty of young Morons (mostly British and some Eastern European) not bothering. I did wish for the Police to have had a higher presence to cart these selfish bastards away to the Cells.

We knew about the stabbing but it was like seven years ago. The Hotel is really nice but there is nothing around it, although it's only an 8 euro ride to Hersonissos which has plenty of Shops/Bars/Restaurants so that kept the Missus happy, but I would have been happy to stay in the Hotel. I don't see the point of going out of the Resort when you have paid for everything already except for cultural trips like to Knossos or wherever.

The last time I was at Heraklion airport before this was in 1985 on a lads trip to Malia, so 35 years ago and apart from the fact it now has a large Duty free shop it looked exactly the same. Still have to get fucking buses out to the Aircraft which makes it a joke with regards to social distancing. On my flight there from Munich they managed to cram everyone on to one Bus.

Only had a mooch cos its not far from the villages up the hill behind hersonissos

bet its fantastic in old hersonissos et al this summer, though not for the local businesses

We got the "Train" from outside the Resort that stopped about 20 times on it's way to Hersonissos old town up on the hill. It looked pretty much shut down. We didn't get off until the Port and we went there again a few days later by taxi so my Missus could buy some stuff. One of the Women in the mini-shop in the Resort was English and she said that her Husband ran a Bar in the old town and nobody was visiting. In the first week that the resort reopened at the end of August only about 120 people in it (capacity 1200). By the time we went there on the 27th September it was about 500, but they close in a few weeks anyway. It's been a disaster for their economy. Plenty of Hotels we went past had not bothered to open, or had gone out of business. Same for plenty of the Bars and restaurants in Hersonissos (Port).
