And what are some making him out to be?

Our best footballer? He is. The one player who can keep hold of the ball and doesn’t panic when it’s near him? He is. The one player in an advanced position who has the ability to see a pass no one else sees? He is. Albeit in a very limited squad. No more no less than that

”has far more to do in terms of producing and scoring goals”... yes he does but the fella is living off scraps playing behind Magennis and trying to create anything off his chest downs or balls that are fizzed in to him at head height (everyone else’s chest)

The guy scored 50 goals in 2 seasons. people (probably you) can argue it was league 1 and the step up is big but it isn’t down to just that fact. It all boils down yet again to how we play. Our style isn’t getting the best out of him. You don’t score 50 goals in 2 seasons at any level without having that eye for goal and ability to see things. Your just either blind to it or so entrenched in your view that what PP is doing is correct your ignoring it.

Weve has the lowest number of shots on target in the whole league. Yet you say he needs to score more goals? maybe look at the bigger picture to see why he isn’t and acknowledge in order to see that from him your king has to change things

He’s getting loads of the ball. He isn’t doing anything with it. He’s not feeding off scraps. You can’t build your team around him right now because he flatters to deceive. It’s simple as that for me. Looking nice isn’t relevant. He had so many chances to put a good ball in or feed one through and didn’t manage it once. His corners are garbage generally too.

He he does look tidy, but is knocked off the ball too easily and when you lose the ball he is like playing with 10.

He’s getting the ball in the wrong areas that’s the problem

having to go and find it in and around the half way line. No use to anyone

PP said yesterday in response to not playing 2 up top “we are. Oztumer is a striker”

if that’s what he sees then it’s a worry

His heat map shows most of his touches were in their half. So I’m not really sure how he’s getting it in the wrong areas. He’s just another ‘flair player’ who doesn’t actually seem able to impact the game. Loads of chances to play the killer pass and wasted them all.

Heat map

Not doubting you, but is that something we can all see?

Wherever he gets the ball he isn’t the fucking problem it’s a complete lack of options, runners, supporting players in and around him that is.

It baffles me what game you watch 99.9% of the time it really does.

The one creative player we have is hardly in the game. When he is his options are minimal and therefore his impact is questionable. That I give you

that isn’t his fucking fault. When you have someone who can give you something extra you work out a plan on how to get that out of him. Don’t bypass it. I don’t understand why your unwilling to acknowledge  that?

Dont worry PP won’t put you in the outside kennel if you slightly criticise him you know

I agree cowdrill once Ameobi is fit and dyer is up to scratch I think we will see the best of oz they are players who make runs behind the defence which will help him.

I’d love to see a stat on how many forward passes our one creative player / striker (in PP’s eyes) plays in a game

I would bet decent money it’s around if not less than 25%. Yet that’s his problem apparently

Why is everything so fucking right or wrong? Could he just not have had his best game? He was still the person in our team that wanted the ball the most, I’d guess he still completed the most passes. I don’t think he had a brilliant game, but that also doesn’t mean that I think he’s the shittest of the shit like you seem to have already decided he is. Stop trying to be so controversial you cock, he’ll play a big part in our season.

Well said Eddie

Up to their goal we were embarrassing and if Grounds takes him out after he fucks up they dont score. When it was 1-0 we bossed the game and the first half Oz showed a lot of quality was the first time we have played it on the ground; he did have a poor second half but compared with ALL our wingers he had a very good game.

We had one tipped over and one saved off the line and on the 90 minutes were the better team but it was still not good enough. We are missing the spark in the box.

The concerning thing is why do we allow every team to attack us from the start and only get into the game after conceeding?

But he had opportunities yesterday to make these 'killer' passes, granted not as many as we all would like; but he fucked it up every time.

The more worrying thing is that even with ameobi he has one good game in 3.

But even on his bad days he's our best attacker. If he doesn't reach championship standard in 2 out of 3 games the other wingers havent reached that standard once this season. So 1 in 3 is still a huge improvement which is arguably the difference between 8th bottom and 3rd bottom.

He did

And then he gets stick

Not really conducive to him trying stuff

Had enough of our multitude of ineffective "wingers" after yesterday.  Mark Little would give us more physical presence and penetration down the right than anything else I've seen this season. Play him in front of Pav (not instead of Pav) - got to be worth a try.

Dont understand why Ozumer is getting grief when the likes of windshit & grounds cost us games

Because he’s not controlling the balls that whistle over his head and spanking them in the top corner from 30 yards

or, playing an eye of the needle pass between 4 defenders to the 1 player whose more advanced than him.

He played the wrong ball and/or executed it badly

Bollocks to being scared of doing it again cos a few idiots moaned, he’s a pro footballer - it’s his job. Excuses for them every time

I normally agree with BC but this time I’m with Fan5. And if Ameobi comes back and Dyer turns it on Oz won’t come into his own because he won’t be on the pitch

amd we played it out from the back more yesterday than I can remember so I’m not having it that he was bypassed - that’s just utter rubbish. Had Beevers been on them maybe.....
