Things your kids won't experience

Swinging out over a twenty foot drop with only a stick and some blue nylon rope betwixt oneself and a broken arm.

Further risking life an' limb to lean off and plant/retrieve a knife in the ground.

And/or

Having, one by one, the rest of the Goonies present jump on top of you on the swing until the rope or stick snaps.

X-Box #XXI - pah! we shit it...

Finding porn in the local woodland/bus shelters was the holy grail of being a late 80's teenager. Rushing home to unpeel the pages (blissfully unaware of the fluids that had caused it) and gazing at cloppers was heartwarming.

It's only much later in life you wonder why and how they got there in the first place. The obvious guess is that married men had to dump their stash, but i also had a theory that newsagents threw old copies out in an effort to get lads hooked on it. A bit like being given your first free woodbine off the seller at school.

What else?

(without sounding a bit Peter Kay):

Taping the charts

white dog shit

only being allowed to use the phone with permission and a fucking good reason

Having a headlight on the hoover

Your mum calling you in for tea, shouting over the rooftops with a voice that could reach the next postcode.

Ramps for stunts on your bmx

20 a side football on the local rec.

The lack of 'brown people' at school confused me a my next door but one neighbour was Vitu Patel (my nan called him vimto) and we'd grown up playing together and went to the same pre school.

The mixed race lass in our year was one of 4 non-White in the whole school, one of the other 3 being her sister.

There's plenty about just not on prime time bbc/itv telly.

Can't think of a decent one since Gavin and Stacy.

Channel 4 and BBC 3 have produced the best British comedy for over 10yrs.

Nothing these days comes close to the raft we had in the 70s & early 80s.
