Not in Crawley
Loved Texan bars - came back for a while in the 90s I think.
Youri McAnespie
The original Texans needed softening up on the fireplace, and they still stretched about two foot when biting some off.
Site Supporter Winchester White Posted December 16, 2018 Site Supporter Share Posted December 16, 2018 Warming up chocolate eclairs on the bars of the gas fire. I say warming but usually the chocolate inside would incinerate your toncils.

They ruined my school bag when I left it in to melt, forgot about it and when dried you couldn’t open the fucker again. Never eaten caramel like it! I also grew up thinking “hold on there Bald Eagle” was an actual phrase as my Dad used to use it all the time to stop me before I ran off and did something daft. It was only a couple of years ago me and my sister found out it was from the Texan bar TV ad - “Hold on there bald eagle - whilst I grab my Texan bar!” Edited December 16, 2018 by Not in Crawley
Youri McAnespie
Highland Toffee, although different, probably shaded Texans in the tackiness stakes though. I do remember at least half the chocolate coating of Texans would end up on the floor - victim of the battle of wills between the Texan and the eater Bluebird Toffee was another fucked up treat - you could buy job-specific tiny hammers to assist eating iirc.
