Iles reporting PFA pulled out of funding wages

It’s been coming.

Theres miles more to it than a few tweets. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Marc Iles has an agenda, an agenda driven by well known antagonists and is well and truly in bed with them.

All this has been known by some at club for a long time and it was only a matter of time before this happened.

I’ve seen it all before over this way with oystons and local journos. Once a journo picks sides and nails his colours to the mast it’s game over.

Iles had enough warning to reign it in, his employers should have sorted him out.

He just couldn’t help himself. He’s a mouthpiece for others and the games up.

Iles deserves to be banned for his obvious shit stirring against the club, but I fear that Iles, ST & other Anderson haters will be pleased with this & spin it as the fearless local journalist standing up for "the fans " against the evil owner.

Hopefully the club are prepared ( not least, for a media backlash in support of Iles ) by having a well presented record of Iles' shit stirring, to justify his ban.

I think nothing can save the paper

Bwfc still has a chance

The only thing keeping the BEN going is the fact that the MEN has 2 top class sides to focus on. If they started covering the wanderers in any depth there'd be no need for Iles and crew.

That and no real online journalism about the Whites.

You really think that? BEN now have national media tweeting about it, more clicks more ads. Majority of Iles stories except match report he can do from home. It’s pathetic tit for tat by both, but locally and nationally, bar this website, people will be on the side of the BEN.

I’m bored with the whole thing tbh. I agree Iles has and agenda to a point but don’t trust Ken at all.

I liked that Ken rhymes with Ben.

I really couldn't give a toss about when goes on between a reporter and Tank Top.

All they've done is make a martyr of him, despite what some might think. Another misstep.

That as maybe, but the 'Bollocks' at the beginning says to me that you know he doesn't really give a fuck.

He wants us to be successful from a business selling point of view, but he doesn't actually give one fuck about Bolton Wanderers FC!  He isn't a fan like Eddie Davies, he's a 2-bit business man and a chancer at that, he saw an opportunity at BWFC to make a few quid, he has misjudged it and now he is rueing the decision that he bought the club.

Iles got to involved and has paid the price at the BEN, Tank Top however is plodding along waiting for some Arab or Afghan poppy seller to buy the club, as we all know, hence he doesn't give an actual fuck about the club itself.

The ST however do give a fuck, but unfortunately they are run by a bunch of cunts!

So we agree

Anderson needs the club to be saleable so is working towards making it so

Lies doesn't give a fcuk, beyond his own personal ambitions, so doesn't give a fcuk

People need to take into account that Marc Iles has fuck all interest in Bolton Wanderers. Zero. Other than getting paid to report on it.

What's that got to do with him doing his job, which is getting paid to report on the club?

What ever anyone thinks the facts are these.

Iles boss was contacted to requested that he tone things down.

The following day on his own personal Twitter account he deliberately commented on the clubs financial update (wages HAD been paid) and chose to accompany the tweet with a picture of Scrooge - we ALL know who he meant by that!

Does anybody really think that was done innocently by Iles?

Does anyone think Anderson would have banned him if he had simply wrote his article first and linked to it on twitter without pictorial comment?

Seems blatantly obvious he knew what he was doing - sticking two fingers up to Anderson and daring him - did he really believe he could carry on like that regardless of consequences?

Hardly the behaviour of someone impartial and agendaless and so called 'simply reporting on the club'.

Is it?

What else was he supposed to do though? Not reflect fans opinion on players not being paid for a fortnight?

Fair enough maybe his analysis of the situation might have been different, so what does he do then? Try to justify a 2 week delay in wage payments? Or try to pass it off and accept the party line?

Fair enough I believe he took too many of the more extreme views to heart and began to broadcast them too much. But if he didn't at all? What kind of coverage do we want from our local paper? Twitter carries a bigger representation of fans' views than Wanderers Ways does, whether that's a good or bad thing.

With everything going on at the club, I don't think Marc Iles is the problem.

Well maybe if Iles had just tweeted once that with Burnden Leisure being a limited company that it was NOT the responsibility of Anderson to pay the wages from his own pocket.

Maybe then this bigger representation of Bolton fans on Twitter might have been a little better informed and not as angry against the owner as so many of them now are.

Maybe if he hadn't tweeted 'likes' on his twitter account to people implying Anderson was a crook in some way, then maybe some of those many on twitter might not be thinking the same way as they are now.

Maybe if he hadn't deliberately put out on twitter extracts from the accounts about payments to Anderson company for 'consultation' services and joined in the unfounded belief that he was paying himself over half a million in year in wages, then all his twitter followers wouldn't have taken it as gospel that Anderson (and his son) were!

It's not about Iles being asked to toe some party line or other it is about Iles being professional and impartial in what he is reporting on.

If he left it at writing his articles rather than become the self proclaimed voice of the people on twitter (based on opinions and personal bias rather than facts) then maybe people would have been better informed and not out forming lynch parties to get the Anderson's out as many seem to want now thanks to Iles.

Marc Iles may not be the problem at the club but there's no doubt he's added considerably to them recently over his personal agenda with Andersons and how he's gone out of his way to shit stir the twitter gormless to start to turn things toxic against them on the terraces.

Fair response. I was pissed.

It certainly feels that way.

Only difference is the Blackpool fans had a genuine case. The family paid themselves about £100m instead of £500k :)

The money part isn’t what I was thinking about. It’s the litigation, which I hope doesn’t happen.

Your post is the problem. We have someone constantly pulling us apart and never offering so much as a chat with a local star or fan favourite and yet now he’s been fucked off it’s a disgrace.

The echo runs stories all Es all the time supporting both clubs and even tranmere. Just like a local paper should do.

Yes report the bad but the odd chat with the captain etc wouldn’t go a miss
