Sweep
I went to Goa a few years ago, and there was a bloke in our hotel who wore a Bolton shirt pretty much everyday. I watched us play Liverpool with him in a bar, and then afterwards he said he was off to his "local" and invired me with him. Anyway, it transpoires his local was a little corner shop type place, where he and his Mrs would buy their cans of beer and just sit out the front of the shop all night with the other massive tight-wads. He thought I was mad paying anywhere between 50p and £1 in the bars, when he could get 4 or 6 cans for a quid in the shop. I asked him if he avoided pubs and just drunk at home when he was back in Bolton.....he said yes, but then he was from Breightmet. He also wasn;'t overly keen on curry, and was a bit pissed off at how limited his food choices were. He was also one of those people who puts on his Bolton accent as well, because he thought it was hilarious (sort of person who would say Bowtun) - I did laugh when a scouser nicked his marmite and chucked it in the pool one day at breakfast though

Smiley
Just remembered watching an England game out in Gran Canaria. Bunch of lads on table next to me. Soon as I heard accent I thought it sounded familiar. Got chatting. Said our goodbyes. A few years later bumped into one of the lads at a random house party. Stood staring at each other saying “know you from somewhere”. Took a while for one of us to crack on whereabouts. Never seen him since.
