Did we deserve it?

Not arsed either way like but it would be good to know we were worth three points!

I would say this is the first time this season we deserved to win a game.

WE didnt dominate but we did have 2 good saves from their keeper while alnicj had the one.

More half chances as well today so yes we were the better team at last.

Worked ok

The centre mid on the right wing was up there as motm

Puts some yards in that mon

we are v poor and the lack of confidence with the ball is palpable. Still think we are destined for the drop and Parky is clueless

Take that today mind. What a relief

Deserved that, yes - just about. Fortunate we played against a league 1 team who will be in the bottom 3 by the end of the season.

Lack of confidence is frightening but 7 or 8 home games without a win was likely to produce a performance like that.

Wilson and Donaldson are hopeless.

Still, let’s just enjoy the feeling of a win - however it arrives. Parky Out

I'm hoping the confidence gets a boost

I'd persevere with doidge as he's the man most likely...proper bang for that shot after ref had blown

Hope ameobi is ok

Not a fan of Lowe at right back or Wilson at centre mid, but he can pass better than Lowe

Williams had a ten minute spell when he forgot that he's trying to show us he can be a prem midfielder...in that spell he looked really good. Chasing, tackling, running

Fantastic block by Lowe, I think, with 5 to go

Shows they are still competing but they need something to protect

6 minutes?

I thought Donaldson was outstanding. Mad.

Bloody hell, really?!?

That Lowe block Cas mentions was superb

Of note either way, i thought Williams did well and Wheater was blowing like a bloke that was on the piss for Xmas over the last few days assuming he’d be  Sub Not Used Today

Lowe did nothing wrong at right back and not much wrong when shoved over to left, O'Neil's experience showed through second half, with how he took his goal and generally did the right thing with and without the ball.

First half an hour of that did League 1 a disservice and if we couldn't find a way to beat a team as poor as them we couldn't expect to beat anybody between now and May. Lack of quality from both teams was shocking but we won a game and it was just nice to walk off having seen one for a change.

Maybe outstanding is a bit ott but for a forward in the twilight of his career he ran his socks off, his movement is decent and he contributed to us actually looking a threat at times.

I think if anyone thinks the players aren't fighting for the team see when 4/5 of them all threw themselves in to block a shot a once.

I’m sure they do to a point

professional pride if nothing else. O’Neil and Lowe are made from that type of material.  Not sure of all of them are mind.

Not a Beevers fan but thought he did well today too. And Alnwick.

Think Rotherham will drop. It’s up to us to finish above 2 others n all

Agree to an extent Casino. I thought Lowe was man of the match and I thought O’Neill was good, I did however think that Wilson was terrible in centre mid in a game that we could have easily dominated in midfield.

Saying that, would I want us to set up with Lowe at right back for Stoke, not a chance, we’ve got 2 right backs who are probably 2 of our better players, why the fuck was Lowe put there (my guess is height to stop their forwards pulling on to the full backs).

Donaldson isn’t a footballer and Wheater didn’t have his best game (to put it politely) but we got the win so who cares.

We’ve been complete dogshit for 80% of the season and are still only 1 point from safety - it’s not a lost cause.

Although Wilson gave the ball away far too much for my liking, he did a decent job at mopping stuff up when they were coming forward. EDIT - it was O’Neil who set the first goal up rather than Wilson so credit withdraw for that :)

Lowe covered acres of ground and had a very decent game overall. Probably worth mentioning that he did actually play at right back quite frequently for Blackburn.

Donaldson and Doidge seemed to link up reasonably well going forward and we definitely look more threatening overall than we have in months. Ameobi had a typical 88 minutes as he does, largely anonymous for much of it but still head and shoulders above anyone else on the pitch when he comes up with that one moment of quality.

Great save from Alnwick second half and I loved the half dozen players throwing themselves at the ball.

Rotherham were pretty shite and Stoke will be an entirely different prospect based on the game at their place, but they don’t seem to be ripping up any trees at the minute so let’s have a go and see where it gets us.

Three from us, them, Ipswich, Reading, Hull and maybe Wigan, though new money might help them out if allowing them to bring a few in during Jan.

Although we won today, and we're still in the mix we've still got the least scope of those six to get out of it in my view. Happy to be proved wrong though

Dont rule out Millwall - struggled to win 1-0 today and Reading ended up with 9 men

Love to see Wigan continue to drop

Lowe did well today but I get the distinct feeling that Little / Parky have a problem

Pure conjecture but he maybe thought he played well last season and questioned Olkowski’s purchase?

Who knows but I genuinely believe there’s a group - Little, Vela et al that must feel a bit hard done by....

O'neil for me too plus credit to Lowe for a good performance.Big Dave was blowing out of his arse good job it was Proctor when he slipped said to my mate He wont score!

Ditto when Dioge found himself with the ball just outside their penalty area Jesus our final ball is gash !

Keeps us in the relegation game.
