Annual weightloss/get fit thread

A while ago I set a target of 178lbs. I’m currently 203lbs. Anyone who knows me would know that I shouldn’t be anywhere near over 14 stones. Never mind heading towards 15 at a rapid rate. Its booze. Simple as.

Lockdown has killed me. If I could cycle regularly on the Fylde or North Wales coasts and do a ton of walking in The Lakes and The Peak District, as usual, the weight would really start to fly off

Gonna do the same as I did when I gave up the cigs. Get through my stash and then knock the booze on the head completely. No specific date but when it’s gone I’ll buy no more til I reach my weight target

Have to say that this iWatch that Mrs Manc got me for Xmas is quite good

Entered some goals into it and the fucking nazi on my wrist mithers me all day long if I’ve been sat down for too long or not walked about enough.

Its worse than she is. Just waiting for it to tell me to start fucking decorating or make the tea

4 years ago I was running 5 or 6 times a week, competing in ultras, long distance fell races etc then I got a series of injuries.  That's culminated in 2020 being my least active year, an ever growing belly and a wardrobe of medium size clothes I can no longer get into.

Fresh start on Monday.  If I've not lost at least a stone by March I'm giving up!

That's very good! Advantage of being in an active job?

Lowest mine had been is 20%!

Sure, but on the BMI chart, that’s teetering on obese, @Rudy

😁

Yeah it is plus the gym at work so it’s easy to be addictive. It would be lower but I’m not a strong swimmer at all. Splashing about with my daughter yeah, lengths nah not for me

Which is one of the limitations of BMI

Aye, it can create a very false picture.

It like seeing the age of a car seeing the miles and declaring how good it is based on that alone

25 mile bike ride today

A footy ground special

Home to Edgeley Park to Etihad to Old Trafford and back home

Didn't realise City were playing and incurred the wrath of their security whilst taking a spin round the ground

Manchester city centre was proper 28 days later scenes, can't have seen more than 10 people going through the NQ and down Deansgate

So much for “not travelling outside your local area” 🎣
