I've nothing against Howard and I value his input, but I'm sick of reading him having to answer the same questions over and ver again, because new members can't be arsed reading what has gone before.

In time, more and more of the regulars will get pissed off for the same reason and as Howard has said he's going next week anyway and that nothing will happen before then, I just thought he might as well go now.

That way, we'll not get some more wet-eared cunts taking offence because we're impolite.

6yrs of business? Fuck me.

So, its not really Howard I have an issue with per se, but more of the new clientele he's attracting. It's like the old idiot magnet.

That's one of the best bits for me,

Gave everyone a laugh surely?

Been grateful for Howards input. Calmed the nerves.

Traf's reet to an extent though. Once this is all over, most of the interlopers will probably move on. Hoi polloi instant gratification seekers who will be better served elsewhere than trying to delve into the type of jousting which is commonplace on WWays.

This is a place for the true believers.

I'm new here, but it is a valid point.

I only heard of WanderersWays through someone mentioning Howard on Twitter, so came to have a look.

Maybe I'm missing something, and I've only read through a couple of times so I could well be, but -

From what I've seen so far, the majority seem to be behind 'Howard' and almost hanging on his every word. There's also been no proof provided or any new names mentioned that I've seen, yet everyone here hates the journos on Facebook or Twitter for doing the exact same thing.

The only difference I can see from Howard and the journos or one of the other main Bolton accounts on social media is that he interacts more. I'm not doubting his understanding of the topics, but he's literally being praised and people believing him completely, while at the same time calling other 'in the know' accounts/journos for doing the same.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love for it to be true and someone is in line to purchase by April 2nd and it all goes smoothly from there with a new mystery owner. I just can't get my head around someone like Nixon being ridiculed for his comments and speculation but this guy is getting a free pass because he's on a Bolton board. I'm not a Nixon/Iles/whichever Twitter account someone doesn't like apologist, but from someone who barely uses any social media at all it literally seems like the exact same thing.

This is turning into a stupidly long post, but from what bits I've seen on Twitter and here over the last few days - Nixon has basically said he doesn't know who the mystery bidder is so won't give any names for no reason, he's also said he expects a deal to be done at the last minute if at all and he doesn't think anyone will be paying the wages if it's not sorted beforehand. Scrolling through a few pages here it seems Howard completely agrees, but one is being called for being wrong and the other apparently can't do any wrong.

I know this reply isn't fully in response to the reply I quoted, but it's interesting for someone coming from outside who didn't even know this place existed to see how many people are coming to support someone they don't know, who hasn't really provided any major facts (again, I could be massively wrong on this, and if I am then any links to the posts I've missed would be appreciated).

The thing is Howard called some things the right way early on when the Journos obviously hadn't a clue, this means that whatever H says is treated with cautious optimism. It may not come across fully reading now when the narrative has swung but being the first to say Basran didn't have the funds, that there was someone dealing with Moonshift, etc was not what we were hearing elsewhere and that's why he's getting this positive attention. You can't really catch the mood by reading 240 pages after the fact.

Appreciate the response, and yeah, I figured a lot of it was missed reading back through.

I really do hope that he's right and a last minute deal will be done, but again, I have to mention (only because it's how I've been keeping up with all this nonsense over the last few weeks) that Nixon also said he's sceptical to whether or not they could afford it if such things as paying the wages is a sticking point to make the deal not get done.

In no way do I mean this to come across as an attack on Howard, I was just interested in the complete polar opposites of some people here. Someone saying the same things over the last week or two on Twitter is a liar due to maybe getting some stuff in the past wrong, but someone saying identical things on a Bolton board is completely accurate.

Also has to be said, I do know that journos are often wide of the mark and are trying to fill their own pages. The latest things I've seen on Twitter are basically: Last minute deal before deadline, don't know/won't say who the mystery buyer is, don't think wages will be paid on time. From the reading I've done here, Howard seems to believe the same. Is this still the latest or have I missed something more?

Thanks

Honestly I think the Journos are just reading this and passing it on.

Fair enough

Just surprised you don't know of us horrible racists

Don't think it's just WW tbf. In this day and age forums can be an afterthought to the immediate nature of Twitter and Facebook.

Just have a look at Sluffy's kingdom where all you have is the same half dozen people posting once or twice a week. No idea how the other ones are getting on.

Coincidentally I was talking about this place to a couple of fans yesterday one being my age and another in his twenties and neither had heard of WW. Suppose it depends where your tastes take you online.

Legitimacy comes from being proven right, not from retrospectively changing your narrative upon being proven wrong.

That's true, and as mentioned in my other post, it wasn't any attack on you. Was just interesting that your info seemed to be the same/similar but one person is lying and one isn't. At least how it seems from the outside.

Obviously I'm new here so can't say I know the full story of what you've said will be happening in future, but I do try to go back and read through to see if I've missed anything when I have time.

A question I do have that I keep seeing people using to defend Ken Anderson is - didn't ED have an admin fund and would have funded the club to go into admin, rather than liquidation?

People on here colour their posts to suit their own ‘agenda’, if you read WW, LOV, Nuts, Nixon, Iles and Twitter etc you’ll have a good idea what’s happening, some people want certainty but that’s not possible

Believe what you want to believe, nobody’s right or wrong

Nixon has completely changed his narrative here then!!..........he was initially stating he knew the mystery bidder/bidders but wanted more info on their motives before saying.

He is clearly just edging his bets again as is Iles.

Silent Bob........is your middle name Chris by any chance😂😂😂

WW site's been busy since yesterday and so have I. Not read it all, so apologies if I''ve missed something relevant.

Its been perfectly obvious from Howard's arrival on WW that he was in receipt of information that could only have been known to insiders.

Following my enquiries about the £8million that Moonshift allegedly wanted from the sale, Howard messaged  me to tell me the name of the direct source, in effect confirming that Howard was privy to information that was not in the public domain and that the information was genuine.

Howard has since continued to post information on WW. Most of it has been credible but he has also occasionally lapsed into speculation that has been less so. My first enquiries led to the discovery that only £5m of the £8m Moonshift debt was secured, not the whole of it as Howard had first indicated. I'm sure this was nothing more than a misunderstanding but the further speculations about the £3m seem to me to be unproven and questionable.

In the broader perspective, Howard has proved to be the most reliable souce of information to supporters worried about the prospects for the club and for that reason his presence has been very welcome and  I'm genuinely pleased that he has decided to continue for a while.

Its also clear that Howard is not neutral and would like WW members to believe that the deal has not been completed because Ken Anderson is a greedy so and so or worse. There can be little doubt that a primary motive for KA was to try to turn the club round and make a profit on the sale. Its equally apparent that whilst Ken's digging in to get that profit, representatives of the mystery bidder are also digging in to minimise it.

On the basis of the information Howard has provided, the mystery bidder will have to come up with about £30m to pay off secured and unsecured creditors. If he is as wealthy as Howard seems to think he is, the relatively small amount Howard suggests Ken wants, should not be an insurmountable hurdle.

Funding admin whilst a legitimate buyer was found would’ve cost more than simply paying the HMRC debt. Ironically, an administrator would have rejected Deano & Ken as bidders.
