Take Over

I think the hope Bassini is coming has been all but dismissed.

The league will let anyone take us over.

Rigby says we had better offers than holdsworth and KA from ED’s time

They discussed who could put us in admin and how much it would cost.

Not a pointless meeting in my opinion.

Rigby has an agenda. And is clearly a bit thick and makes lots of guesses. Utterly pointless. I’m sure ED turned down billionaires so he could sell the club to DH for a pound...utter wankers the ST.

What have we learned from the efforts of our good friend at the Beeno reporting on events at the Macron tonight?

Dean Holdsworth paid the best part of a million quid interest to Blumarble and zillionaire Ken Anderson was  going to put 2million quid into the club but the chairman of the ST didn't know whether he had or not. That was just the start of it.

I'm just left shaking my head, wondering if I imagined it all or if I've drunk too much  cinzano even though there's been no cinzano in the house for forty years.

I’ll leave it there. Agree to disagree and all that

I’m not disagreeing with anything, I’m asking a fair question

If it can’t be answered i’ll have to assume it’s unqualified speculation and another pointless meeting of guessing and posturing

Could be a plausable reason why a better offer was turned down.

Yep. I’ll go with that then if you stop asking me questions 😂

Most of it was pointless hitting out at Anderson, the EFL and even sly digs at ED.

The Blackpool fella made an interesting point about how the ST can't get involved too much in protests but can have sort of 'loose coalitions' with groups that can.

I did come away thinking the various groupings could work together better despite the fact that I'm not deeply impressed by the Trust leadership.

Deano got off light in Rigby's narrative sweaty was the bad guy from day one

..ED could have sold to a number of consortia but decided to give it Deano for a quid.

At this point I was going to leave the room but thought I would stick around for the report on the EFL meeting

Turns out that Harvey is just the fixture secretary & basically we have enough money to see out the season. So the inference is that sweaty has run off with the swag.

Thats when I exited the room.

So it's all but been confirmed that Bassini is (allegedly) a bullshitting fantasist.

Now our Ken may be a few things but we can be certain that he would see straight through someone like Bassini. This adds credence to what another poster said in that he is somehow connected to KA and he has been put forward for a specific reason - possibly to buy some more time or possibly some other reason.

What have we learned today?

Been a full day of gems to savour.

- I guess we start at the very beginning of the day when Neil 'did he jump or was he pushed' Bonnar tweeted his alcoholic flavoured comments the club was unsellable.  This came as quite a shock to me as I didn't think anybody followed Mr Blue Moon anymore.
- Then the Hoppy510 taught us that the club had £45m more assets than debts when Anderson took it over (We were actually showing a debt of £186m as per the accounts for that time!) Only £231m wide of the mark!
- Followed by Lofthouse's call for 10,000 fans putting £5k of their family savings EACH into the pot to buy the club when we can't even get 10,000 fans at the club with tickets at £5 each.  Brilliant, why had nobody thought of this plan of action before?

Then this evenings ST Meeting, featuring a cast of not one single person of any relevance to do anything much about anything at all really.  (Bit like all the other ST meetings then).

- The Davies family, Moonshift, Micheal James, Bret Warburton, etc, didn't even send a note that they were even bothered with the evenings farce, which was taken badly by the Chair of the ST, Mr Terrance Rigby, Barrister.  I should have thought a clever person such as he obviously must be, would have reflected on why that might be?  Could it possibly be that these key players in the clubs immediate future don't believe the ST to be creditable?  Nah it couldn't possibly be that surely?
- Mr Rigby had however read some documents and give his considered opinion on some of the winders stuff but didn't really sound convincing as to what he was saying was absolutely correct.  I preferred Howards narrative myself, much better story in the opinion of this mill town boy.  When I was a lad the skyline was full of the mill chimneys before Dibner got to work on them - I'm just flagging up how old I am for later on.
- Then we had Roger Allanson (passed presumably as a fit and proper person by the ST before (and after?) his co-option onto the ST board) chatting about meeting Shaun Harvey the CE of the EFL and talking amongst other things of how people pass the EFL's FFP test criteria.
- Mr Harvey confirms Ken proved to him the money was there to see us financially through to the end of the season but no one seems to have asked the vital question of Ken being, did he intend to be spending it on the club to make sure we did get to the end of the season. School boy error perhaps? (note another hint of ageism there of a younger kind)
- Then a selection of meaningless questions, to folk without the expertise to actually answer them properly, to the dissatisfaction of the people sat there expecting a miracle solution to everything along the lines of let's go into Administration, not sure who will do it though or will pay for it, then we get rid of Ken and the ST will take us on with Mr Allanson's company he's established for that very purpose.  I'm not sure however if Mr A will set up his own FFP tests for people wanting to be a part of it though?  Anyway well done the audience, easy peasy really, makes you wonder why we've not done these things already?
- Then the big news, the old boys (the ST) and the young guns (Will Jones and the rebel rousers, whose biggest hit so far is Once Around the Stadium, plus supporting acts of Burnden Aces and that other tiny site (who have a tennis ball franchise or something like that?) are going to court each other!  Coffin dodgers and Millennials in a marriage of convenience to save our club.  See all the age references now make sense!

Horray, how could we find ourselves in better hands than these!

All problems solved.

Don't forget the ST elections in June.

What a complete and utter waste of a day.

And if you analyse that it means that Burnley - to be a bottom half/middling premiership side have spent probably more on players in 2 seasons than BWFC have in their entire history. Certainly at best approaching it.

Colin Todd (£15 million) Megson (£40 million) and Coyle (£20 million) spent roughly £75 million between them.Burnley have had a quality manager do the spending whereas we allowed three managers who nobody  would consider  Premier league quality do it.

If we’re looking at Blackpool and Portsmouth as a way of of this shit then we are bolloxed

Why? Portsmouth are showing good signs of recovery from being mismanaged financially. They could be back in the 2nd tier next season which is historically their level

I assume he means that it’s because our supporters trust isn’t upto scratch when compared to Pompey or Blackpool

Which (if true) is a sad state of affairs really as they are voted in by our fans and should be a broad representation of us

unless someone comes in soon and decides they are happy losing £30m+ then it looks like we either need the ST or go out of business

from what many have said on here it seems that plenty would prefer us to go out of business than have anything to do with the ST

Very sad indeed, I’d rather we still have a football club

Bang on. I’m no fan at all of the ST but much rather have them than nothing at all. The idea of the ST and indeed having an ST is the right thing to do, I just think they’ve gone about their business wrongly since it’s inception

Their ST stabilised them but getting out of Div4 with 18000 crowds is straight forward enough. They are now owned by former Disney CEO Michael Eisner.

Like we had a quality manager in Allardyce. Let’s see what happens when Dyche goes. Nothing lasts forever.

They'd rather be right, on the internet of a load of strangers, that a businessman is crooked, than the team they purport to support survive, let alone thrive

The mind boggles

Well theirs doesn't because they don't have one, they're just hysterical sheep. If it's not BWFC ownership, it'll be the local immigrants or someone else's fault that their soulless lives are a miserable drudgery of a (non)existence.

And that's me being nice about the bell ends :)

The irony of this given the last few pages. People who'd still choose oblivion with Ken over being in any way associated with what are, at worst, naive well meaning Bolton fans.

Also the criticism of a pointless meeting that solves nothing on a thread heading towards 500 pages

How do we get rid of Michael James

He can't even be bothered coming

Fcuking hell

Still shaking my head over the chairman's comments, Casino.

Did he really say:

''He (Holdsworth) paid the best part of £1m in fees. That was when KA came on the scene, agreed with Dean to invest something in exceess of £2m to help fund the club. I don't know if he ever invested or not''

I don't suppose anybody asked him who told him that, why he believed it or where Holdsworth got the best part of a million quid from.

Take a look here to see what Sports Shield BWFC Ltd was worth and what it spent or didn't spend (according to Mr Holdsworth).

https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/09910069

I don't suppose anyone asked TR whether he had seen the prospectus that Howard, Basran,  John Galt and numerous others had allegedly seen.
